Went vs Gone

The differences between “went” and “gone” are that “went” is used for the simple past tense. For example:
He went to school.
“Gone” is used in two different tenses. It is used in the present perfect tense with “has.” For example:
He has gone to school.
It is also used in the future perfect tense. For example:
He will have gone to school.

Gone

“Gone” is the future tense of the word “go.”
“Gone” is used for the present perfect tense. It indicates the activities were completed in the immediate past. For example:

He has gone out.

Our President has gone to many different countries.

If used with “just,” it will indicate that “He just went out,” which is an action that was just completed in the past.

It is also used to denote action beginning at some time in the past and continuing to the present, like:

He has been gone since last week.

“Gone” is also used in the future perfect tense. The future perfect tense is used to talk about actions that will be completed by a certain time in the future. For example:

He will have gone to work before you go to see him.

While I am gone to the foreign country, keep a careful eye on the business.

Went

“Went” is the past tense of the word “go.”
“Went” is used for the simple past tense. The simple past tense is used to indicate an action was completed in the past. It is often used with adverbs of past time. For example:

She went home an hour ago.

It is also used without the adverb of past time. For example:

She went home.

This sentence indicates that the time she went home can be found out by context.

He went to the gym every day.

  2. Is it “She go back to bed after breakfast”, or “ She went back to bed after breakfast.”

  3. Confusing presentation. “Gone” is NOT “the future tense of “go.” The future tense of “go” is “will go.” ” “He’s gone to war.” Is THAT a future tense??? Why not put the case in one simple sentence of contrast between the two?
