Difference Between Emo and Metal

rock-bandEmo vs Metal

Emo and Metal are members of a particular group, and are known for their particular style and fashion. Though the two terms – Emo and Metal ‘“ represents the new trend in fashion, they have many differences between them.

When making a comparison, it can be seen that the Metals are more creative and artistic than the Emos. Unlike the Emos, the Metals show some variety in their music and other aspects. By just listening to the music, one can differentiate an Emo from a Metal adult. One does not find any heart-stopping or breathtaking solos or riffs in Emo music. On the other hand, Metal music is very complex.

One can also see a difference in dressing styles. The Metals prefer trip pants (jeans or camouflage pants) and band t-shirts. They wear silver colored chains and not gold colored chains or beads. The Metal kids also paint their faces wth black make-up.

The Emos are identified by their black dressing styles. It has been said that the Emos wear black clothing to show off their hardcore character. Moreover, the Emos also use pink eye shadows. The Emos also love multiple piercings, beads and jewelry. The Emos wear tight or skintight pants when compared to the Metals. The Emo kids also get their hair dyed black. Apart from the dyed black hair, Emos also use a mixture of black and white, or bright red streaks in their hair. The Emos also have the tendency to sweep their hair across a portion of their face, or down over their face.

When compared to Metals, the Emos are a bit hardcore, and they try to appear different from what they actually are. Unlike the Metals, the Emos always suffer from emotional conflicts.

  1. cretin. 🙂

  2. This is horribly untrue.

  3. Well, emo music is like all music. It’s for everyone. So is metal….. This is coming from a green day/ Melanie Martinez fan, who happens to like slipknot and metallica. It’s my taste… Plus I hate those “metalheads” that hate on emos, when really emos are just people.

    • Metal heads hate emos because we are often called and ridiculed for being “emo”. Also metal and emo are not for everyone. Emo is retarded while metal is only for people who have a taste for it

  4. Emo for life, I like metal and emo. Im an emo, why do metal guyz hate emos so much.. jeez .-. LMAO

  5. I consider myself as emo in my style of clothing, yet I also love metal music and I don’t believe in cutting myself when I’m hurting inside. If I’m angry I get mad at who made me angry, i also dont just were only black, I love purple and dark blue,I also like wareing concert t-shirts and I do like only silver jewelry but not much and at the moment I have only my ears pierced, so you can say I’m a little of both emo and metal,
