Canada lies in the continent of North America, and Korea lies in the continent of Asia.

Canada lies to the north of America, and occipies a considerable area of this region. To the west of Canada, is the Atlantic Ocean, and to the east is the Pacific Ocean. In the north, Canada extends to the Arctic Ocean, and to the south, lies the United States of America. Korea lies in the Korean peninsula, with China as border in the northwest, and Russia in the northeast. The Korea Strait separates Korea from Japan.

Canada is a federation consisting of provinces and territories. It is governed by a parliamentary democracy, with a constitutional monarch. Korea consists of two countries ‘“ South Korea (Republic of Korea) and North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). Seoul is the capital of South Korea, and Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea.

Canada is a multi-cultural country, with English and French as the official languages. Both the two Koreran countries have Korean as their official language.

When talking about the history of Korea, the original people who inhibited the region were from south central Siberia. In the 19th century, Korea became the object of colonisation. Japan annexed Korea in 1910, and it remained with them until World War II. After this war, Korea was divided along the 38th parallel. The Northern region fell under Soviet occupation, and the south fell under the allied countries.

Coming to the history of Canada, it was inhabited by Aboriginal people. In the late 15th century, Britain and France colonised Canada. In 1867, the Constitution Act paved the way for a Confederation under the name of Canada.

When talking about the Etymology, Korea is derived from Goryeo, which refers to the ancient Goguryeo Kingdom. Canada is belived to have been derived from ‘Kanata’, a St Lawrence Iroquoian, which means ‘village’.
