Difference Between Perfume and Body Spray

Perfume vs. Body Spray

Men and women want to stay fresh and also cool throughout the day. They do not want to smell awful in public, and so they use various perfumes and body spray. But people misunderstand perfume and body spray as the same thing and do not think they are different. However, actually, perfume and body spray are different.

Perfumes are a mixture of different aromatic extracts and oils that give pleasant odors. On the other hand, a body spray is just a milder form of perfume. Body spray is a mixture of water and alcohol along with various extracts.

When perfumes contain higher amounts of aromatic extracts ad oils, a body spray contains only a lesser amount. Body spray is used on various body parts just like a deodorant. On the contrary, perfumes are not used on the body but only on the cloth.

Another difference that can be seen between perfumes and body spray is in the duration of the odor. When compared to perfumes, a body spray does not stay on longer, and they wane at a faster rate. So a person using body spray has to use it at multiple intervals.

There is also a difference in the cost between the two. Perfumes are costlier than body sprays. The body sprays that are more like scented alcohol are less concentrated and lighter. On the other hand, perfumes are highly concentrated which gives out a pleasant smell compared to that of body sprays. Moreover, the perfumes are stronger and heavier than body sprays. Since the perfumes are highly concentrated and heavy, they stay on longer.

  1. What would happen if I were to boil off the water in a body spray?

    • You would so burn off the fragrance oil, so it would be a complete waste. I don’t even know if this is possible with any desirable outcome?

I make Body Spray as well as Eau De Parfum/ Parfum on a very small scale
