Difference Between Nokia E71 and E72

e72Nokia E71 vs E72

The E72 is the successor to the E71 and it has introduced a lot of new improvements while still maintaining the form factor and target market of the E71. The biggest difference of the E72 from the E71 is the 600Mhz processor which is more powerful than the 369Mhz processor of the E71. The E72 also runs the 9.3 version of the Symbian OS which is a sub-version higher than what is installed in the E71. The additional power makes the E72 snappier when processing data or as it crunches the number for various applications like the multimedia applications.

The HSDPA support of the E72 has also been upgraded to reach speeds of up to 7.2mbps while the E71 can only achieve 3.6mbps. Although this might not be of significant importance now, the E72 just ensures that it can reach that speed for users who really need it. Aside from the speed increase, there is no difference in the support for network frequency bands as the E71 already supports a lot of these frequencies.

On the fun side, the E72 has also been equipped with a better camera. The 5 megapixel camera of the E72 produces images that are better and of much higher quality than the 3.15 megapixel camera of the E71. The E72 is also more energy efficient compared to the E71. Even though they are supplied with the same 1500mAh standard battery, the E72 can last up to almost 20% longer on a single charge.

Since the E72 is an improved version of the E71, it should be understood that it would have better features and improvements that the manufacturer found lacking in the older model. It is beyond argument that the E72 would be the better choice between the two if you are looking for the best smartphone for business use. But for those who are restricted by a very tight budget, the E71 can do almost everything that the E72 is capable, though a little bit slower.

Summary:
1.E72 is a newer model compared to the E71
2.The E72 has a later version of the Symbian OS running on a stronger CPU compared to the E71
3.The E72 supports 7.2mbps HSDPA while the E71 can only reach 3.6mbps
4.The E72 has a 5 megapixel camera while the E71 only has a 3.15 megapixel camera
5.The E72 is more efficient compared to the E71 when it comes to power consumption

  1. I think you forgot one of the best features of the E72 for fun: it has a full 3.5 mm headphone jack!

  2. This helped me to choose e71 or e72 🙂

    Thanks

  3. I thing there is no big difference between E71 and E72

  4. E71 FREE OF RAM 70MB. E72 FREE OF RAM HAVE 50MB. SO START APP OPERA MOBILE 10.10. ON E72 AND RAM LOW OPERA MOBILE TURN OFF.SO I UPGRADE E71 TO E72 NOW I SOLD E72 AND RETURN TO E71.

  5. i think there are some technology difference that have been shared above.
but there are also huge price difference…
eg if e72 is availabable at price 18 … e71 will be availabale at 11

  6. Hey,

Thats really helps so now i hav a reason to choose e72. By the way when is Nokia going to launch new e-series phone?

  7. e71 free ram is about 70mb, e72 is 40 mb. Launch 2 apps and you got issues. HUGE PROBLEM

Camera doesn’t matter as no gsm camera is better than a digital one. e71 is also much cheaper.

  8. The free ram in e72 is a MAJOR setback and fills up very quickly. Anyone knows no matter how powerful your cpu on your computer is, ram is important or you get lag. This is true with smartphones, too.

I am never trading my e71 for a e72 with ram issues.

  9. Great work.. it helped me alot to choose e71 or e72

    THANKS
