Soprano vs Concert Ukulele

Soprano and concert are two different ukulele instruments. Ukulele is a Hawaiian instrument which belongs to the guitar family. Ukuleles come in four different sizes; soprano, tenor, concert, and baritone. Each of the ukulele instruments comes with different features and produces different sounds. Of the four ukuleles, soprano and concert are the most widely used instruments.

Of all the ukulele instruments, the soprano ukulele is the smallest. The size of the soprano ukulele is considered to be the standard size. A soprano ukulele comes with a length of 21 inches, and the concert ukulele comes with a length of 23 inches.

Of the two ukuleles, the concert is more comfortable as it gives more space for the fingers to go through the strings.
The soprano ukulele, which is also called a standard ukulele, was the first to be developed. The concert ukulele, developed in the 1920s, was the second instrument to be developed among the four ukuleles. The concert ukulele was an enhanced model of the soprano.
Soprano and concert ukuleles come with different tones and sounds, and it is mainly because of their designs. The concert ukulele is larger and louder than the soprano ukulele. The concert ukulele has a deeper tone whereas the soprano ukulele has a softer sound.

Let us look at the cost of the two ukuleles. The soprano ukulele costs less than that of the concert ukulele. This is because of its wide popularity and also its size.
