Difference Between Acuvue Advance and Oasys

Acuvue Advance vs Oasys

Almost all of the things that we do are done when we are wide awake. This is how important our eyes are. This is why we must always take care of our eyes.

Have you ever felt that your eyes are getting dry and easily become irritated? Have you ever voiced concern about the condition of your eyes after being exposed to dust, extreme heat, and glare? Using sunglasses or eyeglasses may lessen the glare, but it does not work well with dryness and irritation. Using eye drops may be a good option, but some people are not just comfortable bringing eye drops every time their eyes are irritated and become dry. Thus, they usually look at other options, like using a contact lens.

Contact lenses were developed not only for aesthetic purposes, although sometimes they are used to change a person’s eye color to make that person look better, but also for corrective purposes and as therapeutic tools. Individuals who have visual dysfunction may opt to use a corrective contact lens rather than eyeglasses. Furthermore, those who are constantly bothered by eye irritation and dryness may also use a therapeutic contact lens. Acuvue contact lenses are making great strides in this field.

It comes in two types, the Acuvue Advance and Acuvue Oasys. Both were developed to give users eye comfort . This is because the products contain liquid gels that provide moistness and freshness to the eyes even under certain demanding conditions. Acuvue Advance and Acuvue Oasys are both contact lenses but they have differences.

The Acuvue Advance has been out in the market longer than the other product. This indicates that Acuvue Advance has been tried and tested for some time now. It has a higher percentage of water content, about 47%. This gives better ability to moisten and freshen the eyes. It is cheaper than the Acuvue Oasys.

On the other hand, the Acuvue Oasys is new to the market. It is patterned after the Acuvue Advance yet with subtle differences. Although it has a lower percentage of liquid content, about 38%, it has greater oxygen permeability allowing its users to feel more comfortable during use. It also allows the user to wear it for 6 consecutive days and nights without replacement or discomfort.

Summary:

1. Acuvue Advance and Oasys are two similar contact lenses that provide comfort and freshness for individuals with dry or irritated eyes.
2. The Acuvue Advance was developed first, with higher percentage of liquid content, and is cheaper than the other.
3. The Acuvue Oasys may be new but it has greater oxygen permeability, giving users comfort during wear. It can be used up to 6 consecutive days and nights without being removed.
