BE vs B Tech Degree

BE is Bachelor of Engineering and B Tech is Bachelor of Technology. Is there any difference between BE and B Tech degrees? This is a question generally asked by many and it is a question that has been debated often. B E and B Tech are engineering degrees and are the same. One cannot make out any difference between them.
Though earlier B E and B Teach was considered as separate degrees, people do not make out any distinction between these degrees nowadays. But the only difference that can be said is that Bachelor of Technology is more practical oriented whereas bachelor of Engineering is more theory based. This is also an old concept as industrial training is mandatory in both these degrees.

It can also be said that Bachelor of Engineering is knowledge oriented while Bachelor of Technology is skill oriented. But nowadays, these differences are also not considered as both the degrees are skill oriented and knowledge oriented.

There was a misconception earlier that there was more scope for students who had a B Tech degree than those having BE. But the fact is that the future and scope of both Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology are the same.

Earlier the difference between B E and B Tech was quite evident. In India, there were two types of Universities earlier. One university offered degrees in fields such as education, science, arts and engineering also. Another type of university, which were named institutes, gave degrees only in engineering.  The universities that offered engineering degree along with other degrees gave the Bachelor of Engineering certificate. The institutes that only taught engineering gave B Tech degrees.
