Difference Between Kurds and Arabs

Kurds vs Arabs

Kurds and Arabs are Muslims, but they speak different languages, live in different regions, and have different cultures.

Kurds
Kurds, or Kurdish people, speak the Kurdish language. They are a multilingual people and speak two or more languages. Generally, they speak Kurdish as well as the language of the nation where they are from, such as, Arabic, Persian, or Turkish. The Kurds living in diaspora communities are fluent in three or more languages. For example, Kurdish Christians and Kurdish Jews speak Aramaic as well.

Kurds are natives of the Middle East. They are part of the Iranian population. They inhabit the Kurdistan region which includes parts of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. It is believed that there are about 34 million Kurds living in different regions of the world. The majority of Kurds live in the Middle East and also Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, United States, and many European countries. Kurds are believed to be the fourth largest ethnic community in the world living in the Middle East. Only Arabs, Persians, and Turks supersede them.

Kurds are mainly Sunni Muslims, but there are minorities of Shia Muslims also living in regions like Kermanshah Province and llam, Iran. Fayli Kurds are also Shia Muslims living in southeastern and central Iraq. Alevis are another community of Shia Muslim Kurds living mainly in Turkey, Tunceli, and Sivas, etc.

Kurdish culture is mainly a mixture of ancient Iranians having Islamic roots and is Hurrian or indigenous. The Kurd women, unlike many other Muslim cultures, do not cover their faces, and men and women participate in mixed-gender activities.

Arabs
Arabs, or Arabic people, speak Arabic. Arabic is a Semitic language which originated in Arabia. From Arabia the language spread to West Asia and North Africa. Due to the language and spread of the culture, the people living in these areas started being denominated as Arabs.

Arabs mainly live in the Arab world which includes Western Asia and North Africa. Arabs are identified as Arabs on the basis of three main criteria; the language, the genealogy, and the culture. Genealogically, people who can trace their ancestry to different tribes of Arabia are Arabs. The tribes of Arabia refer to original people of the Arabian Peninsula. Linguistically, those whose first language is Arabic including the many varieties are considered Arabs. Depending upon the language there are over 300 million Arabs.

Looking back at history, Arabs were not defined by their religion. They are people from before the rise of Islam. There used to be Arab Christians who today form almost 10 per cent of the Arab population. Arab Jewish tribes also exist, but the modern world Arabs are mainly Shia, Sunni, and Ismaili Muslims.

  2. Nebuchadnezzar II was the eldest son, and successor, of Nabopolassar, who delivered Babylon from its dependence on Assyria and laid Nineveh in ruins. According to Berossus, some years before he became king of Babylon, ((((Nebuchadnezzar II married Amytis of Media, the daughter or granddaughter of Cyaxares, king of the Medes, and thus the Median and Babylonian dynasties were united.)))))) There are also conflicting accounts of Nitocris of Babylon either being his wife or daughter. Nabopolassar was intent on annexing the western provinces of Syria from Necho II (who was still hoping to restore Assyrian power), and to this end dispatched his son westward with a powerful army. In the ensuing Battle of Carchemish in 605 BC, the Egyptian army was defeated and driven back, and Syria and Phoenicia were brought under the control of Babylon. Nabopolassar died in August of that year, and Nebuchadnezzar returned to Babylon to ascend to the throne.

After the defeat of the Cimmerians and Scythians,(((( all of Nebuchadnezzar’s expeditions were directed westwards, although the powerful Median empire lay to the north. Nebuchadnezzar’s political marriage to Amytis of Media, the daughter of the Median king, had ensured peace between the two empires.))))))))))))))

  4. I also read that the kurds are the closest to semitc jews in dna i did not believe it i was corrected i dreamt a map of Iraq and I saw the Iraqi Kurds coming side by side to the semitic jews and search for info after i got this info from link
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1274378/ go to figure 4
    it shows this
    Turks
    Iraqi Jews
    North african jews
    Muslims Kurds IN center
    Kurdish jews
    Ashkenazi Jews

However, it soon became apparent that the CMH is not specific to Jews or descendants of Jews. In a 1998 article in Science News, Dr. Skorecki indicated (in an interview) that some non-Jews also possess the Cohen markers, and that the markers are therefore not “unique or special”.(( The CMH is very common among Iraqi Kurds, according to a 1999 study by C. Brinkmann et al.))))) And in her 2001 article, Oppenheim wrote: “The dominant haplotype of the Muslim Kurds (haplotype 114) was only one microsatellite-mutation step apart from the CMH…” (Oppenheim 2001, page 1100). Furthermore, the CMH is also found among some Armenians, according to Dr. Levon Yepiskoposyan (Head of the Institute of Man in Yerevan, Armenia), who has studied genetics for many years. Dr. Avshalom Zoossmann- Diskin wrote: “The suggestion that the ‘Cohen modal haplotype’ is a signature haplotype for the ancient Hebrew population is also not supported by data from other populations.” (Zoossmann-Diskin 2000, page 156).

In short, the CMH is a genetic marker from the northern Middle East which is not unique to Jews. However, its existence among many Kurds and Armenians, as well as some Italians and Hungarians, would seem to support the overall contention that Kurds and Armenians are the close relatives of modern Jews and that the majority of today’s Jews have paternal ancestry from the northeastern Mediterranean region.

  5. and i have seen the gulf arabs many of them their features are not like Prophet Abraham PBH the people i have seen that are similar not same is the iraqi kurds also iraqi and syrians also people of hatay and obviously the ones who are the same as the Jews are the Andani Arabs I have not seen too many but i am sure there are adnani arabs like that.
i think many people tell lies The CMH is very common among Iraqi Kurds, according to a 1999 study by C. Brinkmann et al.))))) And in her 2001 article, Oppenheim wrote: “The dominant haplotype of the Muslim Kurds (haplotype 114) was only one microsatellite-mutation step apart from the CMH…” (Oppenheim 2001, page 1100)….so basically the muslim kurds are only 1 one microsatellite-mutation step apart from the CMH… but at same time it says many iraqi kurds have the cmh mmmm
and it did NOT say Kurdish Jews it said IRAQI KURDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
