Difference Between Right Wing and Left Wing

Right Wing vs Left Wing

In the realm of politics, the right and the left wing are two positions that are continuously being debated upon and possess arguments that, to this day, have been debated over and over again; yet seemingly without any possible solution. Although their differences have been dimmed with the passing of time, since many politicians that claim to be either right or left end up having the same stand for particular arguments, some general characteristics of being in the right wing and being in the left wing must be made clear.

Foremost, right-wing politicians are said to be the more conservative type, but they are also considered tougher. They like a smaller government entity that shouldn’t control much of the citizens’ lives. They have a higher regard for the people than the government as they advocate equal working rights. These are also the type of people that don’t want to have their hands on the economy as a whole. Most, if not all, of them are against gay marriage. They want to oppose the government for its nanny-type laws like the regulations on not smoking and other related prohibitions. Although right-wing individuals place a big emphasis on the value of life, they still want to pursue war whenever deemed necessary.

Left-wing politicians are the more liberal individuals. One of the reasons why they are more liberal is because of their support for gay marriage because they are also pro choice. They like bigger government structures that have a more powerful hold on the citizens so as to affirm social justice. These politicians want to intervene with the economic system. With regard to conflict management, left-wingers want to solve conflicts without the use of force and primarily through peaceful, diplomatic agreements only.

Lastly, some may say that being on one side means that you lean more to a particular political party. This is not always true because whether you are a democrat or a republican, you can either be a right-winger or left-winger yourself. It just depends on which ideology you come to follow.

Summary:

1.Right-wing people have a higher regard for the people than the government.
2.Right-wing people are more conservative than those from the left.
3.Those coming from the left wing have more liberal ideologies than the right-wing individuals.
4.Left-wing people have a higher regard for the government than the people and perhaps undermining the autonomy of the latter in some contexts.
5.Left-wing individuals are for gay unions unlike those coming from the right wing.
6.Left-wing politicians are more supportive with the government because they believe in its power to guide the people in making better choices.

  1. Worst synopsis EVER!!

  2. The difference between the left wing and the right wing is simply what form of authoritatianism will be imposed on the people. The rest is sideshow arguing over the details.

  3. The right leads to freedom and individual rights. The left leads to government controlled big brother watching your every move and you having no rights.

Example of a right government: Unites states of America – people are free, capitalist economy, people vote their leaders into limited power with checks and balances.

Example of a left government: USSR communist – people are ruled by a party and have limited freedoms, state owns everything economy, leaders are chosen by the party and have unlimited power.
