In the automobile industry, Honda and Mitsubishi have carved out a name for themselves. Both Honda and Mitsubishi have come out with many models that have stayed with the auto lovers. Well, the Civic comes from Honda, and the Lancer GT is built by Mitsubishi.

Well, Let us now see some of the distinct features and specifications of both the Civic and the Lancer GT. First of all, let’s compare the engines of the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer GT. Almost all the models of the Honda Civic come with 1.8 L, 4 cylinder engines. They come with a 140 horse power. Well, the SI Civic model comes with a 2.0 L engine and 197 horse power. Besides from the SI models, all the other Civics have a five speed manual transmission or an auto transmission. The SI model has a six speed manual transmission.

The Mitsubishi Lancer GT is equipped with a 2.4-L, I4, DOHC, MIVEC 16-Valve, MPFI Engine. When compared to the Civic, the Lancer GT has more horse power, which stands at 168 at 6800. The Lancer GT also comes with a 5 speed manual transmission.

When comparing their fuel economy, the Honda Civic has an advantage over the Mitsubishi Lancer GT. The Honda Civic will get you 21 to 26 miles per gallon in the city, and 29 to 36 miles per gallon on the highways. On the other hand, the Lancer GT will only give you 20 miles per gallon in the city, and 28 miles per gallon on the highways.

In regards to safety, the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer GT have almost the same features, like antilock brakes, EBFs, airbags, traction controls and disc brakes. Well, the Mitsubishi Lancer GT is also equipped with an all wheel drive system for perfect wet-weather stability.

When talking about the entertainment provided by both the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer GT, the entry levels of both the autos come with almost the same entertainment systems.

1. Except for the SI Honda Civic model that comes with a 2.0 L engine, almost all the Honda Civic models come with 1.8 L, 4 cylinder engines. The Mitsubishi Lancer GT is equipped with a 2.4-L, I4 engine.
