EK 4 vs EK 9

EK is basically a chassis code, and the different numbers 4 and 9 refer to the different models. Although EK 4 and EK 9 may look similar, there are differences between the two.

When comparing the two chassis, the EK 4 is equipped with a b16a DOHC VTEC engine, and the EK 9 comes with a b16b DOHC VTEC engine. Well, another difference that can be seen is that the EK 9 comes in a Type R badge.

When looking at the nuts that hold the wheels, the EK 4 has with four nuts, whereas the EK 9 comes with five nuts.

Unlike the EK 4, the EK 9 boasts of a seam-welded chassis, and stiff bars behind the bumpers. When comparing the socks and springs, the EK 9 comes with better shocks and springs than the EK 4. Moreover, the EK 9 comes with a limited slip differential and lighter windscreen than the EK4. Where the EK 9 comes with a 22 mm rear ARB, the EK 4 comes with a 13 mm rear ARB.

When comparing their weight, the EK 9 is heavier. When talking about steering, the EK 4 comes with a better feeling of power steering than the EK 9. In driving, the EK 9 is smoother compared to the EK 4. Well, the EK 4 seems to give a heavy feeling, and it may roll badly on corners when compared to the EK 9. In the EK 4, the rear wheels may not follow the front wheels.
