Apple iPhone 4 vs HTC Evo 3D

The iPhone 4 of Apple is just over a year old and it has already been faced a barrage of new phone models with superior features. One of these new phones is the HTC Evo 3D. It is worth reiterating that the main difference between these two phones is the operating system. The iPhone 4 uses the latest version of iOS while the Evo 3D uses Android; the differences between which is more than enough to fill another write-up or two.

Aside from the OS, there are also significant differences in the hardware. The 3.5 inch screen of the iPhone 4 is dwarfed by the 4.3 inch screen of the Evo 3D. A bigger screen certainly has its benefits, especially in browsing the internet or viewing videos.

The bigger screen of the Evo 3D also complements its main feature; the dual cameras that are capable of shooting 3D stills and videos. The two cameras take images at slightly different angles, which create a stereoscopic view when merged together. Since the iPhone 4 only has a single camera, it cannot take any 3D image. The camera of the iPhone 4 is also at a disadvantage when it comes to the resolution when taking videos. Although they both have the same sensor resolution, the Evo 3D is capable of taking 1080p videos while the iPhone 4 can only manage 720p.

The difference in video resolution is largely attributed to the processors of the phone as processing a larger image is more time consuming. And when need to process 24 images per second, the load can really add up. The Evo 3D manages to do 1080p video because it has two processor cores working at the same time. This means that each core only needs to process half of the images and are still able to cater to services that are running in the background.

Lastly, Apple’s refusal to put a memory expansion slot continues with the iPhone 4. So users are still limited with the 16/32GB internal memory that they phone came with. The Evo 3D has a microSD slot, giving users more flexibility.
