Apple is the most famous brand in the world of smartphones and were practically the first company to introduce the smartphone market. The interface of Apple iPhone is always very simple, intuitive and extremely luxurious. They have become a symbol of elegance in the smartphone arena and the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 are two of its milestone products which have created quite a stir in the consumer market.

The Apple iPhone 4 processor was first announced in June 2010 and represents the 4th generation of the great iPhone lineage from Apple. It has a more gorgeous look than the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 4GS. With a thickness of 0.36 inch and a weight of 137 gms, the iPhone 4 has an LED screen of 3.5 inches. The pixel density is 300 ppi and the new pixel density and resolution has been termed to be Retina Display according to Apple. Compared to the 3G and 3GS models, the pixels are almost negligible. It runs on an A4 processor with a RAM of 512 MB. There is no micro SD slot for expansion storage. It comes with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera which can also record videos at 720p pixels. There is a VGA camera for video calls at the front. The cameras are combined with the Facetime app, which is a video calling software from Apple. The iPhone 4 offers 300 hours of standby time with more than 14 hours of talk time and allows music play time of up to 40 hours.

The iPhone 5 is the successor of the iPhone 4S and was announced last year. The phone had a thickness of 7.6 mm. The weight is 112 gms, which is actually lighter than most of the smartphones available today. The iPhone 5 uses an A6 chip which has a 1 GHz Dual Core processor. The iPhone 5 also supports LTE.The screen is a 4 inch LED featuring a resolution of 1136×640 and the pixel density is 326 ppi. The GPU of Apple iPhone 5 is almost twice that of iPHone 4S. It comes with an 8 mega pixel camera along with the autofocus mode and its LED flash can record 1090p HD videos at 30 fps. There is a front camera for supporting video calls too. The Apple iPhone 5 supports only nano SIM card and as usual, the new operating system it comes with has proved to be simply perfect.

Apple iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, but the iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4 and can be upgraded to iOS 6.
Apple iPhone 5 features an 8 MP camera which can also capture 1080p HD videos, whereas the iPhone 4 features a 5 MP camera which can capture 720p HD videos.
Apple iPhone 5 offers 4G LTE connectivity, but the iPhone 4 supports only 3G HSDPA.
Apple iPhone 5 has a taller, thinner and lighter form factor compared to the iPhone 4.
