Difference between Iphone 5 and HTC One X

Iphone 5 vs HTC One X

HTC has been one of the phones in the market that does not seem to prefer going with the combative marketing skills that other mobile manufacturers have employed, looking to seek the mass market to purchase their products. It can be said that their positioning in the market goes in line with their tagline that talk of HTC being quietly brilliant. Apple on the other hand look to appeal to the mass market and it is for this purpose that need arises to review two phones released in 2012 to see how well they compete. These two phones are the HTC One X and the iPhone 5.

One thing that even the heaviest critic will give top HTC is that they do design beautiful phones. The beauty of the HTC One X is no less different. The One X is an amazing phone that comes with a 4.7 inch LCD capacitive screen that produces 312 ppi. As with other phones in this class, the glass that makes up the screen is Gorilla glass to ensure of an amazing look to the phone and scratch resistance is guaranteed. The external cover of the phone is done using a soft polycarbonate plastic that feels good when holding. The architecture of the phone looks great and is quite amazing with smooth rounded corners. The operating system of the phone is the HTC Sense UI v4+ which is a combination of HTC sense and the Jelly Bean operating systems.

The hardware of the One X is a 1.7 GHz Quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. This device is available with 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB but does not allow expanding of internal storage capacity with an SD card. The camera of the phone is an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.6 camera at the front. The battery of the device is a 2100 mAh Li- Ion battery which is drained very fast, and this seems to be the main limitation of the device. HTC have really worked on the various features that the camera can do and all these benefits are quite crucial when taking still shots or recording motion video.

The Apple iPhone 5 on the other hand is quite a phone that caused a stir in 2012 prior to its release. According to the manufacturer, the phone is lighter, thinner and with even more features installed in the phones than before. The screen size is at 4.0 inches and 640 x 1136 pixels. This phone features a 1.2 dual core processor and a RAM of 1 GB. The internal storage capacity is fixed and there are three options available. These are the 16 GB, 32 GB and the 64 GB internal capacity phones available with no expansion possibility. The phone runs on iOS 6 but can also use the recently released iOS 7. Siri which is the speech recognition software first launched in the 4s has also been included in the phone, allowing for the phone to be operated using speech. Another slight change with the iPhone 5 is that it uses a slightly different charging port that is smaller than the previous ones and the headphone jack has been shifted from the top to the bottom.
