Difference Between Waxing and Plucking

waxing_bookWaxing vs Plucking

Waxing is a method of removing unwanted hair from any part of the body with the help of wax. This is a very common method of removing hair from your eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs and arms, and abdomen and feet. Plucking of the hair is done with tweezers, and it is more common in the area of the eyebrows and face. There are many differences between waxing and plucking, according to the way they are used and where they are used; however, the results are more or less the same.

When you are planning on removing hair from a part of your body, you will normally look at some very simple facts. For example, the amount of hair that needs to be removed. If the area that needs to be worked on is small, you have many choices. One of the simplest choices would be to pluck your hair. Another option would be to wax the area with hot or cold wax, and then remove the wax with a hard pull, which will take the roots out in the process.

Therefore, if you are planning on getting the hair of your legs removed, then you will look at methods which will do the work at a greater speed, because of the large area that you need to cover in the process. Therefore, waxing or shaving is preferred in these areas. The same applies for any other large part of the body, like the back or the arms, and the bikini area.

Getting rid of unwanted hair can be very painful, especially if you are doing it for the first time. Whether you are plucking your hair or waxing your hair, the pull of the hair from the roots is always painful, and there is very little difference between these two methods; although, some people say that plucking is less painful because you are taking only one hair at a time, and waxing is more painful because you are treating a large area. However, the amount of time each method takes is different, and therefore, when it comes to pain, one is strong and short, and the other is sweet and slow!

As far as results are concerned, there is really not much difference between waxing and plucking. The hair will grow back in about 4 to 6 weeks, and this depends on many factors, including the climatic conditions, as hair grows faster in summer and slower in winters, and it will also depend on your health. There are other factors that you may need to understand if you are experiencing an overgrowth of facial hair, and you may wish to contact your doctor to get the proper treatment.

Of course, the choice is yours; however, looking at the differences between waxing and plucking, it is best to say that there is hardly any difference, except the area that you wish to treat and the practicality of the treatment. Some people do believe that waxing gives a smoother finish to the skin in comparison to plucking, however, this is all a matter of personal opinions.

Summary:

1. Wax is used for waxing, but no wax is used for plucking.

2. A large patch of hair is removed by waxing, but in plucking, every single hair is targeted.

3. Waxing is generally more messier than plucking.
