Mabelle, I actually like using both of them. I use waxing every couple of months and then use an epilator to maintain the smooth results. I find that it is easier to epilate when there is less hair. I find this is a good trade off because waxing is expensive.

For me I much prefer to use an Epilator it is so much quicker and a lot less mess. As long as you keep a good routine and don’t let the hairs get to long you won’t go far wrong.

Both are great methods of hair removal and superior to shaving. For me at least I think the benefits of saving all that money and the convenience of an epilator puts them on top.

Agree with Erin on its not a case of either or but getting consistent results. Waxing provides a platform whereas epilators are great followup to even things out.

I prefer Epilator because it is fast and painless process. And also epilators provide more smooth skin. especially Braun silk epil is my favourite.

I used both and I can easily say that epilators are better than waxing. Waxing has painful process and it is not certain solution. With using epilator , we can have better skin and we can get rid of unwanted hair day by day.

Me too would chose epilating over waxing. Less pain, faster process, efficiency, one time cost only! are some of the advantages with epilators. πŸ™‚

Both waxing and epilating are painful. In my opinion, if you remove hair more regularly you can go with an Epilator. Also noticed that I got used to with the pain of epilating after few times I’ve used it. Just one confusion, as written here “the use of epilator does not remove cells from the epithelium of the epidermis”, so should I do a professional waxing at least once and then start using an epilator? Would that help to remove the cells?

    Thanks! πŸ™‚

I am a little late to the party, but I wax and epilate.

There are certain parts of my body where I wouldn’t touch with an epilator, and this is where waxing comes in.

The main difference from waxing and epilating is the pain and which method is more easily to do and more efficient. This being said, epilation is the best hair removal method.

The most affordable methods of removing unwanted hairs are with the use of disposable shavers or waxing. However, shaving can be not as effective and waxing is quite a painful process. So the next solution is using an epilator, which will provide you with a silky smooth skin for a couple of weeks or so. It’s not as painful as waxing and is definitely less hassle than shaving every day.

Actually, both waxing and shaving are not nearly as effective as permanent home laser hair removal. Waxing is tedious and can be painful and epilation also needs to be performed on a regular basis in order to see results. On the other hand, laser hair removal gets rid of hairs once and for all so you never have to deal with it again.

I’ve always opted for waxing. I did try epillating once but it was so painful I quit mid way.

Both are ground and painful. If you remove hair more regularly then you can go with an epilter. Also noticed that I used it with the pain of epilating after a few times to use it.

For my side, epilator works best. Waxing for me causes allergy. Thus, I always use an epilator. Anyway, thanks for sharing this valuable information.

The only issue with using Epilators is pain. But results are better than those of waxing.

I find epilators to be better than waxing simply because they are relatively easier to use and less messy as there is no wax to clean up after epilating.
