Actually, vodka in Russian means “little water.”

After two or three shots, vodka can go undetected in breath, so safe if consumed in day unlike whiskey

So if gin an vodka are so much alike why am I allergic to gin and not vodka?

Gin has spices added that vodka does not, reading this article should point to you likely being allergic to one of the spices in gin. Or did you skip the part where it was said gin has “juniper, cardamom, coriander, aniseed along with orange and lemon zest.”

(Depending on the brand there might be other herbs added, some include iris for instance).
