The abbreviation of CGA stands for Certified General Accountant, and CMA stands for Certified Management Accountant.   1. This article is some what true but all of the facts are not correct. In order to become a CMA work experience is required just like the CGA designation. Also the work experience reuired for the CGA designation does not have to be at a firm. The work experience required for the CGA designation has to be two years or more at an intermediated level or higher within any industry as lonng as the experience is within accounting or finance.

  2. Just wanted to ask, which certificate are more acceptable in Canada the CMA or CGA

    Also if I have a previous work experience outside Canada will that be considered to be CMA/CGA certified.

  3. You can transfer some credits from your previous education. If you find a job in the finance world then you can keep working toward CGA. As it says with any degree you can enroll into CGA.
