Differences Between Seventh-day Adventists and Christians

Seventh-day Adventists vs Christians

Most people think that all Protestant churches are the same but they’re actually not. One particular group that is considered different from other Christian organizations is the Seventh-day Adventist or SDA. Essentially, their teachings are rooted in the works of Jesus as recounted in the Bible, which is the same with all Christian groups, but they have different beliefs and practices.

The most glaring discrepancy between Seventh-day Adventists and other Christian churches is the day they assign for worship. Catholics and other Christian sects use Sunday as day of fellowship while SDA members prefer to hold it on Saturdays. They believe this is the day of the Sabbath or the time when God rested after creating the world and all living creatures.

Other Christian groups use the Bible as their sole reference for their teachings and practices which is different from SDA members who also study the works of one of their founders Ellen G. White. This practice has paved the way for other religious organizations to brand them as a cult which they readily deny. Cults are religious groups, but instead of worshiping a divine Being, they center on their leader’s beliefs and teachings effectively appointing him or her as their own savior.

The SDA also cite their roots as a major difference between themselves and most Christian churches. In general, all Christian groups are regarded as belonging to the Protestant movement which was first established by Martin Luther who sought independence from the Catholic Church. This spawned many groups like: Lutherans, Methodists, and Presbyterians, among many others. In essence, Protestant churches came from Catholicism, but SDAs sprouted out of Protestant beliefs.

There are also major differences in the SDA’s beliefs and that of other Christians’. SDA members don’t believe in the notion that the human soul can live forever contrary to what Christians preach. They also view the concept of salvation differently from other Christians. For them, a person’s life is evaluated by God while he or she is still alive which is in direct contrast to what most Christian teachings say that God will hold judgment upon entry to the gates of Heaven.

Practices of SDA members also differ from other Christians. While Christians discourage members to have vices like drinking and smoking, they allow them nevertheless. For SDAs, on the other hand, this is unacceptable. SDA members are also prohibited from eating red meat as this could defile the soul. Christians can eat pretty much whatever they want as long as it’s not in excess.

Clothing for worship is also a big difference between SDA members and Christians. While both groups discourage members from wearing inappropriate outfits during worship services, the SDAs are stricter in implementing dress codes like long dresses for women and pants for men. But despite difference in beliefs and practices, both the SDA and Christian religion advocate worshiping God through Jesus and living a sin-free life.

1. SDAs worship on Saturdays while Christians usually hold services during Sundays.
2. SDAs also use works of Ellen White as references aside from the Bible while Christians base all their teachings from the Holy Book.
3. The Christian religion came from the Catholic Church while SDAs were born from Protestant beliefs.
4. SDAs don’t believe in the immortality of the soul while Christians do.
5. SDAs believe that people are judged while they are still alive while Christians think it happens upon death.
6. SDAs don’t allow members to drink alcohol, smoke, or eat red meat. Christians have the freedom to eat what they like and occasionally drink or smoke. SDAs also have stricter dress codes compared to Christians.

  1. Whoever wrote this obviously did not do his homework… The SDA church is the only church that can back up everything they believe in from Scriptures, where Sunday churches cannot because they simply don’t study the bible enough to know what’s even written there… The Catholic church picks and chooses what they want to believe and what they don’t want to believe. A perfect example: compare the 10 commandments of Catholic church with the original 10 commandments of the Bible. Call the church a cult if you wish, but don’t be jealous for not being able to tell the right from wrong, for not being able to understand the Bible to its fullest extent, for .

    1. SDA’s believe the Sabbath is Saturday because Saturday is the seventh day of the week in which God rested from all his work to “rest.” Jesus observed Saturday as the Sabbath. Jesus rose from the dead after being crucified on Sunday (the 1st day of the week-see Matthew 28:1), which is why we celebrate “Easter Sunday,” which is coming up. The Catholic church admits to changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. They also like to change things
    2. The SDA church is based on sola scriptura (Ellen White’s writings if used at all are only to supplement the teachings of the Bible). She does not contradict anything that is written in the Bible but rather is taken as a “commentary” of what the bible says if you will. She is considered the “Lesser Light,” with the “Greater Light” being the Bible.
    3. No comment.
    4. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the “the dead know nothing.” If this is the case, how can the soul still be alive. The bible compares being dead to being “asleep” until Jesus comes to resurrect the dead. No mentioning of keeping your souls alive and going to heaven immediately and having family members watch down from above… That concept is man-made…
    5. Where in the world did you get this from? The only person that judges is God himself. Don’t be foolish and allow people in this world, including pastors, to judge you…
    6. True but for good reason, health. See Leviticus 11 for what Scriptures say about clean and unclean meat…

    • You have some intelligently put good points and yes you are right on some, but scripture does say, absent from the body, present with the Lord. Oh yeah about what good is clean and what isn’t , Jesus said not to obtain from any food and thst now all food was clean.

      • Read Romans 14:1 – 12
There it is written about the Sabbath Day or not. Vegetarian or not. To eat meat or not.
Unless, conveniently, this Chapter has been removed from certain Bibles.

We are not SDA… but will be joining the United Church of God…for we have searched & searched the truth about Easter, Christmas, Sabbath and so so much more…and we have finally found!! Not what a Founder has to say, but the Biblical truth.

      • Hello. The bible does NOT say that to be absent from the body is TO BE present with the Lord.

Paul says that he prefers to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord.
But there’s a period of TIME between those two events. Blessings!

    • A question for SDA people :
Don’t you people believe in the immortality of the soul?
      If yes why?
      If no why?

      • ok my friend we believe that onces we die our soul or life will be return to God Himself just like the way God gave life to Adam in the beginnig….see Genesis2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
so breath of life or soul returns to God but our body returns to dust……see God has a plan for you and me…..all life returns to God himself so we wait until the second coming of Christ the Judgement day……

        • There is a difference between the soul and Spirit. The Spirit does not die, but goes back to the creator that gave to us so freely to do His will.
Our soul is our characteristic make up that describes who we are.
This is why the devil is after our soul and not the Spirit.
Look up soul and spirit, and you will see we have a soul and a Spirit.

          • is seven-day Adventist know holy spirit??? and use it??

          • What Lawrence is Saying is the same is absolutely true there are three persons one God the father the son and the Holy Ghost wisdom knowledge and understanding yesterday today and tomorrow it is broken down in threes all throughout the Bible we are flesh on this earth goes back dust to dust our soul is our heart and our mind reasoning yes or no right or wrong this or that our free will our spirit is who we truly are for God says that he is Spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth and that he is a rewarder of them who diligently seek him this is the word of God that comparison is what is by his Spirit that is being typed a man not man reasoning and putting things together On his own the Bible says it is not of a personal interpretation of man it is of God and his Spirit which leads us and guide us into all truth for Christ left to go prepare a place for us to come home to. Also you show me in the Bible where it says that Jesus did not do a good enough job so he had to go up to heaven and do the sanctuary stuff like the men did here on earth as Catholics to cover for men’s sins Jesus died and shed his blood on that cross when he said it is finished it was finished he does not have to do more work up in heaven for us to be saved we do not have to keep the Sabbath to be saved all we need to do is confess Christ as our Lord our Savior and for what he has done for us all and we are saved sanctified and set free by the blood of the lamb which is the atonement for all of our sins we’re not saved by works were saved by grace through faith grace is unmeritable favor which means we did not deserve it we did not earn it but God freely gave his Son by sending his Son to be that living sacrifice which there is no more that is needed to be done. You search the Scriptures and you’ll see for yourself it says do not add or take away from my word for it is an abomination on to me that is disgusting in the eyes of God Ellen G White did that and also she also was a plagiarist and they have spoken false times false days where Christ was supposed to come that church was founded on man not God just like the Mormon church was founded by man not God and it will come to an end when it is revealed but Until then Jesus says if they’re not against me then there for me leave them be. But the biggest thing I want to point out is the enemy uses this kind of stuff specially in these last days to keep people from Christ it has nothing to do with salvation these ideological Arguments and fundamentals of man this is not of God this is not what Jesus came before he came that we love one another that we understand and know that is the love big agape not the fillet or not the Rozier not the sword J but godly lov arguments and fundamentals of man this is not of God this is not what Jesus came for he came that we have life and have it more abundantly that abundance is the beginning the middle and the end which is the beginning of his ministry knowing the wisdom and the knowledge the understanding being provided for taking care of love shown that you will matter show that you belong show that there’s a purpose for the life that he’s giving you this is what he’s talking about but if you search the Scriptures you’ll see it but if you don’t you won’t he says that I have not seen nor ear heard nor the heart of man comprehended the things that God has prepared for them that love him but yet he’s revealed onto us the deep things of God by his spirit our righteousness to man is foolishness doesn’t the Bible say that God will use the force things of the world to confound the wise we are his voice we are his vessels we are nothing but man when you crap confessed Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you except him into your heart if you died one minute after that is it going to matter with you kept the Sabbath is it going to matter whether not you ate meat or not is it gonna matter whether not you gave money to somebody or not know it has nothing to do with it because when you confessed Christ your sins are forgiven and forgotten under the blood Christ hold to you no more what did he tell Mary when she got caught in the act of adultery by man supposedly he said Mary where are your accusers she said none Lord he says then neither do I accuse you go and sin no more. That declaration from God was from his own loving mouth to her heart and she saw that and felt that low so she couldn’t help but love and respect what he said so from that point on her life was to serve and to honor him in her life this is what she did we are human beings we are going to make mistakes Jesus said in the word he said I come for the sick I don’t come for the healed he doesn’t come for people who have it all together what’s the use of meeting him if they don’t have a life worry is needed he comes for people who are lost who have been abused who are in bondage who’ve been lied by the enemy and by men who been afflicted he comes for this reason and this reason alone to help us to understand that we are all family we all belong to him he is the king of kings the Lord of lords the Prince of peace The great I am and if that truly is the case which it is it’s in his word you said I’m not a man that I would lie in my Word does not come back void that means that we are Kings kids we are royalty we belong under priced we belong as his children this whole world everything on it is ours if we only knew who we were we stop fighting amongst one another and we started getting out there and loving our brothers and sisters and bringing them into understand but it’s all about Christ and him alone is why salvation was brought in the first place it’s all about Christ and him alone is why Adam was given his first breath this is all about bringing out the true love and the true spirit and the true meaning of what God meant all together the Levitical law was the 10 Commandments it needed to be established so that man could see that there was a rule of the hand of God after that was the that Grace is Jesus Christ that Grace was brought on this earth that Grace helps us to understand and see that Jesus is now the atonement for the 10 Commandments and all these other things we obey those things out of love and respect to God not as a dictator having a club getting ready to thump us like the 10 Commandments are spoken of by the Catholics or the 10 Commandments are spoken of by the seven day Adventist the other different religions and different cults and also that kind of stuff that are out there they do what they want to do to glorify themselves not their God. Jesus clearly said it you don’t get to Heaven by your deeds you must be born again and keeping the Sabbath is not what gets you saved

          • Amen i love this this it indeed the truth i here checking on this topic becuse of a young lady who is a seventh day Adventist i was explain to her the same thing about the difference eara of time from the profits from the old testment to the coming of jesus witch it the fulling of the new by the grace of God jesus said i am the way the truth and the life no one comment to the father but true me. Its quite clear jesus is the son of God and we cant only be save by his grace it not by works and man should boast.the does talk against the sunday worshiper and say we will go to hell. I never one day hear my pastor say that about them one thing i learn the word of God say it will be surprises in heaven thats tells me it what what you say we are not the judge God is the i am that i am he is the one who determin who is going to heaven or hell so i love this stament you make lets stand and declear the word of truth witch is our Lord and savior jesus christ.

          • So what about punctuations I understood and Amen!

          • I think that you and I agree that Jesus is who He says He is. He is the Truth the Way and the Life! Your comment is difficult to read because of lacking punctuation and misspelled words God bless you mate. ..Garth

          • As a Born Again Christian I understand what you mean but it is very hard to read your comment. Without punctuation marks everything is fun together. Yes, Jesus finished the work of Salvation, He doesn’t intend that we help Him out, in any way, keeping the Sabbath, abstaining from certain foods nor any good deeds. We fail on our early journey when trying to keep the 10 Commandments, they are there to show us what sin is.. Thanks be to God that He is our Saviour if we accept Jesus as being our Redeemer.. Praise the Lord. Now we pray that God will open the eyes of the blind to the Gospel Message and be Saved from God’s Wrath to come, as wil as help from The Holy Spirit while we are still alive here.
May you stay close to Our Saviour and be a blessing to others… Sister in Christ.

          • Yeah what he said! ☝️✝️

          • What’s so hard to read about it just because it doesn’t have punctuation I understood it. Some people are just out to have something to say to put others down.

          • Amen!! I and the Spirit ( Holy) within me agrees with everything you say. This is the TRUTH of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When you KNOW the TRUTH the TRUTH will set you free. Jesus Is the WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. Everlasting.

          • Please assist with biblical verses

          • Perfect explanation, of law and grace, salute to your knowledge of the Bible, very impressed. May our faith increase in the Lord Jesus Christ and thank HIM for the finished work of salvation on the cross.

          • Excellent analogy and response. Biblically applied. “not by works” BUT by GRACE. Not by a man made religion but by the TRUTH THE WORD OF GOD.

        • Maybe you should talk to your believer that just wrote that Jesus is not the judge. That only God judges us. Is there No consistency within your membership.

      • Because the Bible says we will put on immortality when Jesus comes at His 2nd coming.

      • The Bible is very clear on the state of the soul. It clearly states that only God is immortal. Check this

        KJV 1 Timothy 6:16
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

This doctrine of immortality of the soul was actually brought in by the Catholic Church during the dark ages in order to gather money through the sale of relics and indulgences.

    • Richard,
I totaly agree with you brother.

      • Amen. Only God has immortality. If we die and go strait to heaven then there no such thing as death. Death is resting in the grave awaiting the resurrecti

    • Yes Richard, but I don’t know of Adventists celebrating Easter Sunday.

    • I do believe the SDA are followers of Christ and are devoted, but a lot of their beliefs that they follow are from the old covenant. Christ came down to fulfill the old covenant, laws and commandments. The new commandment is from Luke 10:27 ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

      • Romans 13:10 “Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

        • The ten commandments are two tables and they sum up loving God and loving your fellow man. The first 4 shows love for God and the last 6 shows our love for each other. Jesus says till heaven and earth pass away his law would not pass away. The law tells us what sin is. If we don’t know the law. We won’t know what sin is. Sin is the transgression of the law. The law don’t save us Jesus saves us. But we can be lost by breaking God’s laws. They are the standard we are judged by. Grace does not nullafy the law of God. Jesus had to die because we broke his law. Jesus kept the law to save us and to prove to us and Satan his law can and has to be kept. He kept all ten of them and taught his disciples to do the same. As followers of Jesus we have be and do like him. Jesus kept Sabbath, Jesus did not worship other God’s , Jesus did not bow to statues/ idols, Jesus did not steal, commit Adultery, lie. If don’t follow Jesus we are not Christians. Jesus did not eat pork/ swine.

      • Just read Matthew 5:17. What did Christ say about the Ten Commandments. Heaven & earth may disappear but not even a period or comma will disappear from the law.

      • The old covenant applied to the LITERAL NATION of Israel.
Adventists don’t hold out hope for the literal nation of Israel anymore, but for SPIRITUAL Israel today.
The TERMS of the covenant– keeping God’s law– have not changed.
LOVE is not a new law!
The old testament commanded Israel to love God (Lev 29:18), as well as their neighbor(Deut 6:5).

    • Yeah who wrote this is wrong i am 7th day Adventists and some of thst is not true my church dont prsise mrs.white it just justifies of her being a phrofit we believe in the son of man and God were not a cult its good to eat healthy and the bible clearly states to keep sober at all times or the devil will devour you i encourage people to research there selfs 7th day adventist is the true church.

      • You’re mistaken!
        It’s absolutely is not a bible-based religion.
The Covenant has been fulfilled, and we are living in the New Testament. Period!
        Sunday is worship and rest!
Jesus turned water 2 wine and partook in the Bible. The only caveat was not drinking to assess.
There is nothing in the New Testament regarding eating red meat.
As I said, this is not bible-based religion, you are using a book written by man … actually a woman. Which poses in entirely different problem based on 2nd Timothy. A woman should never be teaching over men!
Your religion is Antiquated/ not real/ likely a cult.

        • Whoever wrote this article is mistaken. SDA are not restricted from eating red meat. Please see Deuteronomy 14 and Leviticus 11 for lists of clean and unclean meats which God advises to abstain from for health reasons. On that list, the two meats most commonly eaten in America today are shrimp and pork; from these SDA abstain – and we are healthier than the general population because of it, typically living an average of seven years longer. Many of us abstain from all meats and a few of us are vegan, but these are not church requirements. Hope this helps. God bless you!

        • As a seventh day Adventists we do read and follow Gods word in the bible. Please people don’t be deceived by your evil thoughts.Actually we don’t follow Ellen.G.White.

      • Wow they really saying that I didn’t read it I just looked at the title while they really say not about Seventh-Day Adventists if you don’t know nothing about the Adventist faith and shame on them for calling this non-christians what a non-Christian thing to do

      • Seventh day adventist that I have met have heart for Jesus but sorry to say …any church that says they are the true remnant church…Run…and don’t look back. The 1st commandment oversees the 4th commandment…and Jesus is now our Sabbath rest…the Bible clearly says we are not to judge on one’s belief…Romans 14:2… I worship on Saturday @ a local messianic church and also go to Sunday service at a church I’ve been going to for years. I have gone to some SDA service on Saturday and preaching started good but like on train ride it derails…they proof text everything and that is a dangerous way to preach the Bible especially to someone who is new in the faith.

      • Tell the mormons you’re the real church. Religions are man made and abide by their leadership of man NOT of GOD. They set their own beliefs and change the bible according to their needs.

    • I don’t think God cares if it is Satuday or Sunday. He cares that we set aside one day out of seven to worship.

      • I agree! Actually, I worship My Lord God Savior Jesus Christ EVERY SINGLE DAY!

      • True LaDonna. He is coming back for the church. Not denomination or religion but the church.

      • That’s how I think

      • LaDonna in Genesis it says that God HALLOWED the seventh day. Its obvious that He’s set this one day apart, a day more important than the others, long before any covenant. So obviously it matters which day is His holy day. It was meant to stand forever.

        • Jack you are correct and they don’t have any idea about the law being nailed to the cross being the world Moses is it references the word orgdin a connection to Moses which is written by the hand of Moses not the ten commandment that was written by God you don’t seem to get it is the ceremonial laws that is done away with

        • Don’t mind that last message it was scrambled a little bit because there’s no edit option on here I guess until this admin approves this comment I’m assuming

        • Many of you are arguing about Saturday vs Sunday. This is irrelevant. You are correct, Jack. God did set aside the seventh day as hallowed, meaning special or holy. However, when God created the world, the days of the week did not exist. All the Bible says is “the seventh day.” We assume, depending on your religious affiliation, that it is our Saturday or Sunday. The Bible never defines that.

        • The early Christians were Judean,as Jesus and the Apostles, Gentile Converts of the time still observed the Sabbath Day. Even Polycarp, a Gentile, student, and friend of the Apostle John, who saw and witnessed the Revelation of Jesus Christ, even Polycarp observed the Sabbath…

      • Hi LaDonna. God blessed the seventh day at creation and made it holy to commemorate His work of creation and to celebrate it with our first parents. See Genesis 2:1-3. After the Israelites spent 400 years as slaves, He reminded them of ts importance to Him when He gave them His laws, written on stone with His own finger. See Exodus 20:8-10. It is the only command that begins with the word “Remember.” Maybe He knew we would forget. Jesus kept it, and the apostles kept it long after He ascended. Sunday did not become a day of worship until 300 years later. Look up “who changed the Sabbath?” God bless you.

      • In a point of “you don’t think that God care”.We all believe that God is only one must be worship and who testified to our behalf and as must as he is he also have to praised for the day he choosed to be worshipped. Please don’t try to say God does know what he want or like.

    • Check with Roman Catholics teaching on laws and customs..and why they do that..I hope they give you the short verison..we don’t buffet our faith and bible..as many protestant do..

    • Very well noted my brother. It people devoted more time in reading the Word, the Bible, they would understand that SDA, also Christians as we believe in Christ, preach, study and practice what’s in the Bible.

    • Do you believe in hell?

      • Are you asking SDAs? Yes of course we do. We believe in a lake of fire at the end of the millennium so hot it will completely destroy sin, sinners, Satan and his evil angels, leaving them “neither root nor branch,” and turning them into “ashes under the soles of the feet” of the righteous. See Malachi 4:1-3. Afterward the universe will be completely peaceful and clean. There will be no pain, no suffering or sickness or death anywhere in the universe. See Revelation 21:4. How could that be true if the wicked were still screaming in torment for all eternity? God bless you, and thank you for your question.

    • It is written. All meat is given as clean

      • This is referring to your comment a few years ago about Adventists and meat eating: The counsel we have against meat eating is that it is not healthy ANYMORE because of how the animals are raised and killed. Not because of any biblical laws against meat eating. Even secular people are becoming plant based. Meat was never the ideal diet God gave to man. The original diet was a vegetarian one…Genesis 1:29. Meat was only permitted 2,000years later, after the flood.

    • It is to my understanding that Christ allows us to EAT pretty much anything other than animals with a certain hoof like horse and webbed footed. Correct me if I’m wrong. Jesus did kinda change a few things from the OT.

      • I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.

        Romans 14:14

        • Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.

          Romans 14:20

    • Cults create people to be on the defense. Just believe Jesus is your savior. He loves you and accept him in your heart and read only his word and the holy spirit will guide you. God does not make demands. He accepts us no matter what. Forgives us no matter what. No condemnation.

    • Richard you quote Ecclesiastes 9:5 but way you stopped there? just read the next verse what it says?under the sun.
Read also what Jesus say about the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16.
      Also philuppians 1:23

    • I would like to comment on #3. I’m a born again Christian. My beliefs did not come from the catholic religion. The catholic religion is a religion of compromise to appease the Roman Empire. It is where the Godly celebrations were given demonic names like Easter named after the demon god Ishtar and the Birthday of the messiah was changed to a very satanicly appointed day celebrated by the pagans. This also happened with the days of the week as in calling the first day of the week Sunday in honour of the sun god and sun worship. Halloween is another huge difference and an entire study on its own.

As a born again Christian I live my life without religion. My beliefs do NOT come from the catholic beliefs. My beliefs are directly from the Holy Bible. My life focuses on having a personal relationship with God and acknowledging my creator as a spirit who is all knowing, all powerful and everywhere at the same time all the time. I believe that Jesus Christ is the spirit of God dwelling in the flesh of Christ and The Holy Spirit is that spirit of God who was sent to dwell within us to strengthen us and teach us all things in the spirit. Christ came to die in my place so I could be set free from the penalty of my sins and also that my sins could be removed from my life making me spotless and righteous from sin. This is nothing at all like Catholicism. Christianity is directly derived from the Jews. Jesus Christ to be exact. Because Jesus was born of the Jewish virgin Mary. Catholicism is probably the biggest cult in the world.

    • He rose from the dead on a Sunday.

Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it.
      Matthew 28:1‭-‬2 NLT

      • Jesus raising from the dead on Sunday does NOT negate a commandment. You are following TRADITION, not any bible verses here.
He died on Friday, rested in the ground on Sabbath, rose on Sunday. Did Jesus say that the day He rose on should supercede a commandment from God?? No.
Everything God made on creation week was meant to stand FOREVER. Jesus dying on the cross doesn’t change the fact that God made the Sabbath day holy at Creation, and forever. Blessings.

    • Hebrews 4:9-10
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

      Colossians 2:16-17
Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

      Romans 14:5
One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

      Matthew 12:8
For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

      Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

      • Wow thanks alot for this. May God bless you. No one will bully me again because of my religion

      • Amen Leo, I keep Sabbath because JESUS is my example, He even rested in the grave on Sabbath and rose on Sunday the 1st day of the week. The 4th commandment is the only one that He instructs us to remember.
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
        ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:8‬
“Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
        ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Read the whole chapter of Exodus 20, then look at the difference involved in explaining the importance of the 7th day.
Sabbath will even be kept after this earth is made new: “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”
        ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬
I’m not criticizing anyone for how and when they choose to worship. But for me I’m following the example gave to us by CHRIST.
My father started keeping the Sabbath in the early 60s. His family, friends and neighbors turned on him, but he never wavered in his faith. When he found out smoking caused lung cancer he stopped farming and went to work in construction. He said he’d never raise a crop that would kill another man. That was another reason for him to be condemned because they were big tobacco farmers. He had only 2 yrs of schooling but I’ve never seen another man with the conviction that he had. I miss him dearly but I’m thankful he don’t have to see the mess this world is in today.
I questioned him about church and Sabbath about almost everything he stood for. His simple answer was always what’s wrong with doing right? What’s wrong with doing what GOD has asked us to do? Or look it up and read it. I looked up Sabbath in a big heavy encyclopedia that’s when I read about the Roman Catholic Church changing Sabbath to Sunday, the day they worshipped and named for their god the sun. Read about the dark ages and why it was called that… 100 yrs the Word, the Bible, the Light unto our feet was taken away.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
        ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭KJV‬‬
If people would take time to study the Word and then go back and study history (His story) because thats what it really is. It would all make sense.
What has really opened my eyes the past 15-20 years was buying a day runner and being confused that the week began on Monday and ended on Sunday. Each year it became harder to find one, until I had to buy journals and make my own planner.
So thanks to google I don’t have to lug out a 5 pound encyclopedia, I can search why the change… the powers that be are going to make Sunday the last day of the week.
I found the answer in the book of Daniel: “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Daniel 7:25 KJV
it requires a lot of praying, reading and deep study but the truth is worth the digging. The only “law” commandment referring to time is the 4th one which is the Sabbath commandment.

    • It’s funny that people want to hate on sta so we’re not Christians because he followed a full tank of Emmett not my fault you guys can find reading for 9 but not the last one like come on now get your head out of your ass I can find tons of scriptures in the New and Old Testament that says that we should still keep the Sabbath if anything’s Seventh-day Adventist is the most Christian

    • I wish I could like your comment because it is true that people do not know nothing about Seventh-Day Adventists know nothing about the true Christianity and try to point fingers Ellen G white was right they despise what is written in the truth therefore they look at us like enemies and all we do is follow the ten commandments and try to teach others to do the same I say we’re not Christians please where the most Christians they talk junk about 7 Day Adventist but majority of there church is apart of the Fallen churches of Babylon

    • You know it’s extremely rude when you say the differences between Adventist and Christians as anything where the most pressure and secondly going to judge just because you want to hold you the Commandments of God was he commanded us to do so I left those two Commandments if you love your God with all your heart and you will keep his Sabbath and if you our kind to your fellow neighbor that is fulfillment of the rest of the Ten Commandments it has never been done away with
And you call us non-christians when we keep the true Sabbath

      Sabbath dispute
      Additional writing by Ellen White

      Number one:
Some Christians believe that the Sabbath has been changed due to the popular belief that the Sabbath day was meant for the Jewish people. They use Revelations 1:10 “I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day and I heard behind me a loud voice as of a trumpet”.

…but what is the Lord’s Day? Let us go to the scriptures to reveal the truth.

      Isaiah 58:13
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your pleasure on my holy day”. What is his holy day, the day he sanctified?

      Exodus 20:9
“Six days you shall labor and do all your works, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God, and in it he rested”. So that is distinguishing a holy day, a day which was Sanctified, which would mean the Lord’s day IS Sabbath. Keep note The Strangers within that gates are non Jewish people there for Jesus wanted everybody to keep the Sabbath

In addition to this there is
Luke 6:5, “and he said to them the son of man is also the lord of the Sabbath.”, therefore, again Lord’s day is equal to Sabbath day.

      Number two:
Some Believers believe that the Sabbath has been changed because of the resurrection, and they use this scripture…

      Matthew 28:1
“And the end of the Sabbath, as it began to draw towards the first day of the week began to dawn”, people say because it says that it was the end of the Sabbath as a reference to the end of the biblical Sabbath but is it really? Let’s look further into it…

Now when it says that the Sabbath was ended does that really mean that the Sabbath is done away with? Or is that simply stating a fact that the Sabbath day was ending and was beginning a new week towards the first day.

      Number Three:
      Another misconception is
Mark 16:1 “now knowing Jesus was risen early the first day of the week that he approached first to Mary Magdalene”.

Now some say that this is the reason why the sabbath has been changed, but can we see anything that really refers to a change in the Sabbath? There is not one mention of it, and yet again it is just stating a fact, and history, let’s connect the pieces.

Mark 16:1-2 “Now when the Sabbath was past Mary Magdalene Mary, the mother of James and Solomon brought spices that they might come and anoint him”.
Now this to me is actually proof that the seventh day was still important. If Jesus told the apostles that they did not need to keep the Sabbath, then why was it so important for the disciples not finish enbalming his body on Friday when the sun was going down. They knew Jesus would not be pleased. The disciples saw it as there was a lot of work involved in it, let’s wait until after the Sabbath was passed. Jesus even kept the Sabbath in his death. He rested through the Sabbath and rose after it was over, so the idea that it has been done away with is hogwash.

Now another verse and that shows vital importance, however they try to use this to support what they believe, but let’s dive further into it…

Now some people claim the law was nailed to the cross, but was it really that? Let’s use Colossians 2:14-15
And it says “having wiped out every hand writings of the ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and he has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross, having disarmed principalities and powers. He made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them in it”.

Now is this referring to the Ten Commandments? Let’s examine this scripture to come to a conclusion… now into 2nd Chronicles 33:8 it states “they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses”.

Now if you notice both Colossians and Chronicles use the word “ordinances” which means there are two Laws, the law of Moses, and the ten commandments. Colossians is merely representing the fact that we no longer have to keep the law of Moses, but not the Ten Commandments. Therefore, no more animal sacrifice, , be assured it is not with the Ten Commandments of the Lord that was written in stone. That is done away with what are the law of Moses

Oridinances=Laws of Moses Ten Commandments=Hand of God
Deuteronomy 31:26 says, “Take this book of the law, and put it in the side or the ark of the covenent of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee”.
Luke 23:56 and it says “then they returned and prepared spices and fragrances oils and they rested on the Sabbath according to the Commandments”.

now does any of this say that the Sabbath is a new day? I believe, The full ten Commandments still apply if you disagree show the scriptures in the comment section let’s expand our biblical minds.

Additional writings by Ellen G white
The law of God in the sanctuary in heaven is the great original, of which the precepts inscribed upon the tables of stone and recorded by Moses in the Pentateuch were an unerring transcript. Those who arrived at an understanding of this important point were thus led to see the sacred, unchanging character of the divine law. They saw, as never before, the force of the Saviour’s words: “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law.” Matthew 5:18. The law of God, being a revelation of His will, a transcript of His character, must forever endure, “as a faithful witness in heaven.” Not one command has been annulled; not a jot or tittle has been changed. Says the psalmist: “Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven.” “All His commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever.” Psalm 119:89; 111:7, 8.

In the very bosom of the Decalogue is the fourth commandment, as it was first proclaimed: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11.

      • BS. Ellen White was a nut job. SDA is not a Christian denomination. It’s a cult brimming with deluded followers. Anything you cite from the Bible is suspect given your wide use of that 1994 tome – the “interpretive” Bible. It’s a rag churned out by a third-rate Adventist professor for the purpose of bending scripture to support your absurd teachings.

    • I don’t want to argue but since Jesus died on the cross for us to save us for our sins from what the first Adam did. We go by the new testament and it says in Mark that all food is clean now. Also Bible says that absent with the body is present with the Lord. Also while Jesus was hanging on the cross the man next to Him wanted to be forgiven and was afraid and Jesus said in a little while you will be in Paradise with me. I think in Luke.

    • I just started going to the Seventh Day Adventist. The Bible is my first Church in which With God’s help I live by. They don’t water down the Word. We need correction. I see churches with just the feel good method the I’m ok, you ok preaching. But with no power,or correction. The Bible gives us the do’s and dont’s. Jesus Christ made it very clear and you will be held accountable. The politics of religion will not matter the day you stand before the Lord Jesus Christ but what did you do wth your life in God’s eyes from His Word He gave us for a road map? Amen

    • All this I called it unnecessary to be honest in heaven we don’t have SDA or Catholic or Pentecostal or Sunday worship we are all one if you believe in God and you do His will, all this nonsense of immaturity of you SDA and other worshippers must be put to an end God is in heaven crying when He see’s SDA and Sunday worshippers arguing about who’s right He ask What was the blood of Jesus Christ His son for SDA read your Bible well I have being in a situation where the SDA church are told when you Mary someone from Sunday Church is an unequal yoke that’s is totally wrong and bad interpretation from the Bible and God will judge you all the Bible said don’t be unequal yoke with an unbeliever if you say u guys belief and accept Christ as you Lord and Master and the Sunday Church do the same we are one belief so what makes it unequal yoke because you are being Brian wash my bad church members who made doctrine to suit their self interest not God but I tell you at the end in heaven there’s no SDA or Sunday worship we are all one but if you guys think u are the only good or chosen people to go to heaven I can bet u God don’t even know any SDA member who has not given his life to God and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord but keep the Sabbath is nothing before God repent and see we are all one flesh the body of Christ is not divided but I repeat non is save be observing Sabbath till you give you life to God through His son Jesus Christ thank you and we should stop fighting and arguing for we are one is bad doctrine to bring division between Christian but at the end God will judge all this church leaders who make bad doctrine to suit them self our salvation is more important than Church doctrine thanks

    • Stop acting like an academic dwarf. You think you know the bible more than everyone? Why are you only comparing the seventh day adventist church with the Catholic church?

    • Your so called “Bible” is dreck. Written in 1994, it was specifically worded to support the absurd practices and teachings of the SDA. No one regards it as any kind of legitimate translation of the scriptures. SDA sometimes say it’s not officially endorsed by the Church.. Baloney! SDA is a cult of deluded, increasingly political (right-wing) chumps who even advocate for Civil War to return Trump to power.

    • AMEN !!!!!!!!!!!
      Magalina A Masso

    • Hi, Richard.

I agree with some of your points. However, you come off judgmental and I believe we are to be humble as much as possible. I am neither for SDAs or the Christian church but believe there are brothers and sisters in Christ in both churches.
“The SDA church is the only church that can back up everything they believe in from Scriptures.” Are you sure?
Not eating red meat is not in the Bible and don’t know why it’s treated like it is. Leviticus 11:3 says, “You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud,” which is a cow and that’s red meat.
I believe the only one who can back up all their beliefs is a messianic Jewish church and even they (before Christ was born like Abraham and Jacob) couldn’t keep all the law and Jesus had to come. The Bible says that it’s the Jews first and then the Gentiles. These Christian denominations are, I think all, Gentile. It was originally about Judaism but the Jews rejected Christ and it opened way to the church era with these Christian denominations – parable of the king inviting anyone to come to his wedding feast after being rejected from the people (Jews)who originally were invited. I’m not a Jew but have read enough to see this.
2.I read that Ellen White prophesied that the papacy would end at a time (forgot the exact time) and it didn’t end and it still continues as we can see.
      4. To be absent in the body is to be in Gods presence. What about Lazarus and the rich man?

    • Amen brother I agree with you that the seventh day Adventist church does back up our beliefs from scripture because I myself am a Seventh day Adventist

  2. It is not true that SDA’s forbid the eating of red meat because it defiles the soul. It is also not true that the SDA’s encourage members to eat anything but in moderation.

The truth is that SDA’s are encouraged to eat clean meat in moderation. Check Leviticus chapter 11. On the other hand, since the original diet for man according to Genesis 1:29 is plant-based, vegetarianism is encouraged and promoted in the church. For this reasons there are SDA’s who are vegetarians and there are some who are not but also eat in moderation the meat/fish/birds the Creator refers to as clean and wholesome for consumption.

Finally, all the teachings and doctrines of the SDA’s are bible based. Ellen White was a prolific spirit filled writer whose works are referenced only because they are in conformity with biblical teachings. Any piece that is in contradiction with the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) is rejected by the SDA’s. At church service or any religious gatherings the books used by SDA’s are the bible, and the SDA Hymn Book.

    • YES girl preach I am tired of people confusing other people in what us seventh day Adventist believe in, and what we do!!

      • I love SDA ways of the Bible and Witnesses I learned a lot more from your ways than I did from mainstream Christianity. I have family that are witnesses and a friend who is SDA I really like how you all really apply the Bible teachings and principles to life

    • You are living under Old Covenant which begins after resurrection of Christ. However, if you believe Jesus died and suffered and rose again, hallelujah. See you in heaven, brother:)

    • Amen. As previously noted, if people would just read the Word and not concentrate on one text, they would better understand the Bible. A text is part of a chapter and referenceds to other books is key in understating.

    • LOLOL. I find this statement that you write absolutely hysterical!

You write (paraphrased)’any piece of the book written by Ellen whatshername that doesn’t conform to the Bible will be thrown out…x

According to 2 Timothy women cannot preach over men. Per your rules in SDA you are extremely conservative. Very archaic. You use the Old Testament. There for you believe in 2 Timothy.

If there is even one line in a book that is contradictory, it is a lie! That entire book should be thrown out based on that alone. No. Questions. Asked!

    • Ellen White was a psycho. Remember when she gathered her cronies together claiming Jesus was about to show up on a date certain? Her claim didn’t age well.

  3. In large your commentary is good; but the most glaring inaccuracy is the origin of Christianity – In no way did it come from the Catholic church.

In Acts chapters 1 – 2 we are taught that about 120 were gathered together with Peter (1:15); upon whom the holy Spirit was poured (2:14); and “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day” (2:41).

This was after Christ’s resurrection and ascension, when the time for Pentecost was fulfilled (2:1) and was the founding of Christ’s church.

The 1906 US census recognized the Churches of Christ as autonomous bodies of followers of Christ adhering to the original church teachings found exclusively in the New Testament.

  4. I am catholic and believe that all of us have different beliefs but the same GOD and even the native americas believed of a higher power.

    • Being a completed Jew or a born again Jew, I feel that WHAT the bible says goes as it is the complete word of God.

    • The first 4 commandments, if obeyed, reflects our love to God. The only higher power is God, but too often people worship their own god. There is only One.

The other 6 commandments, when obeyed, is our love for our brethren.

    • Really?

Do you believe that your God would go out and tell you to crash two planes into a couple of tall towers? Cuz I am absolutely one thousand percent positive that my God, my Jesus would never tell me to do that.

So… No! We do not all share the same God. Just saying.

    • Margaret we don’t refer to Him as a higher power, but the great CREATOR. I find it amazing that is what the first book of the Bible begins with…. the creation of this world and everything in it.

  5. SDA’s ARE Christians. The title of your page is terribly misleading. If you said “Difference between Seventh-Day Adventists and Other Christian Denominations” it would be more correct.

Also, SDA’s don’t out-and-out forbid drinking and smoking, but do very much discourage it, to the point that the vast majority of SDA’s do not drink or smoke, but some few do.

Dress in church varies by region and is generally no different from other Protestant churches in their region.

Your information is TERRIBLY outdated. Please visit an SDA church and do more research. Or perhaps ask an actual Adventist. Like me, perhaps – I’ve been SDA for over 20 years and am very active in my local congregation and have participated in state- and nation-wide church constituency meetings.

    • why have service on saturdays than sundays?

      • Because Jesus worshipped on Sabbath. Saturday was considered the day of worship, but the catholic church changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday out of tradition. (http://www.biblesabbath.org/confessions.html) take a gander.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever more. Hebrews. 13:5
God said Remeber the Sabbath to keep it holy. Exdous 20:8
God only santified, blessed and hallowed one day out of the week. Gen. 2:1-3

These are just a few supporting verse. However, I will say to truly understand the Sunday vs. Sabbath debate, you would have to go back to the book Genesis and pray for the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom.

        Hope this helps

        • Bible gives very simple and straight forward instructions “Obey and Live”
Obedience is better than sacrifice. There is no amount of penance or prayer that can equate to obedience to God’s word.

1 Samuel:15:22: And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

I was just wondering if each church just discard what the Bible teaches and make their own 10 commandments and follow their own traditions, being a christian will be so easy. Once saved your always saved, why bother about sin, Judgement, Grace , saviour & Eternal Life.

Why do we still hold on to the Bible and do as we please?

Mark:7:7: Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mark:7:8: For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mark:7:9: And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

God is a God of Love and His commandments is His Character, He does not force anyone, all He says is ,
John:14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Matt:19:17: And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Rev:12:17: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev:14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Man has gone far away from God and that is why today Modern Society accepts :
          1) Homosexuality
          2) Live in Relationships
          and many such evils.

Saturday or Sunday it does’nt matter to God? OR DOES IT?
Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us to the light given in the Bible.

          • You may work Saturday and Sunday I believe what Jesus is saying is to keep one day of the week Set aside to rest your self and worship the Lord I worked in a prison for years and very rarely had weekends off if you had Tuesday and Wednesday off the Lord wants you to set aside one day for Him and to rest but don’t forget we are to be in the Word daily not just on Sunday or Saturday being good stewards of the Lord and to sharpen ourselves

          • Well said
Let’s pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us.am an a Pentecostal but wether Sunday or Saturday or Monday God still remains God and we should worship Him on a daily basis

        • Jesus worshiped on the Sabbath as he was a Jew. Jesus fullfilled the Sabbath requierment and became our Sabbath rest in accordance with the passover. Jesus healed & broke Sabbath rules and used them to teach. Ellen White was a Mason, Adventist churches are overflowwing with Masonic symbology, a true mark of the beast. Adventist are not the remnate church unless they are all virgin male Jews. The day a man born again of Spirit worships on is irrelevent. Yes it’s true, the Sabbath was on a Saturday for the Jews, ask yourself, are you a Jew, Gentile or do you belong to the church of God? The old testement is the letter to learn from, it is not written to us, the gospels are miss placed in the new testement which is written to the saints. Study and show ourselves approved.

          • So according to you , Questions we should be asking :
            1) Jesus was a Jew … so why should we follow Him?
            2) He broke the sabbath rule, then why was it given in the first place? To later break it? Ask the question did Adam & Eve keep the sabbath? Were they Jews? When did Jews or Judaism begin? When did Sabbath begin?
            3) To the question are you a Jew? We are all descendants from Noah .. Ham,Shem & Japhath & then later Abraham. We are now spiritual Israelites (Sabbath Keepers).
            4) If old testament was not written to us but just a set of moral stories to learn from, then what do the prophecies in Daniel point to ? for the Jews or us ? What about Isaiah who points to the Messiah to be born in Matthew? (The birth of Jesus).
            5) Sabbath is the only Identity Proof to Identify the Creator.
            It tells us :
            a) Who the Creator is : God
            b) What is His dominion over : All Universe (Heavens & the earth).

You remove the sabbath and we have no proof of the creator & that is what the devil is trying to achieve.

No Wonder the Sabbath commandment in Exo :20:8 begins with the word REMEMBER, because a long time ago even before you and me were born He knew that we will find reasons to FORGET the Sabbath.

Whether Ellen G White was a mason is something that we should not Judge. All that is important for a true Christian is to follow the Bible Entirely, not some parts here and there.

          • Anoop I don’t think you have understood what VirginKiller is saying.

          • I agree with VirginKiller

          • I agree

          • The Sabbath was not for the Jews. It was given at Creation before Israel was born or mentioned. The Sabbath is for everyone who believes in God the Creator.

          • Virginia, I am not SDA but you are confusing them with Mormons or Latter Day Saints Ellen White was NEVER a Mason as only men are Masons. You are actually meaning Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism was a Mason and the symbology you mentioning in the Mormon Church.

          • VirginKiller, I am not SDA but you are confusing them with Mormons or Latter Day Saints Ellen White was NEVER a Mason as only men are Masons. You are actually meaning Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism was a Mason and the symbology you mentioning in the Mormon Church.

        • I am a non-denomination Christian, and after doing some research on the SDA sect. I am highly disappointed on other Christian groups for distancing themselves from them. The SDA denomination is more accurate in most of it’s beliefs especially in that of the sabbath. I am my family have decided to always keep the Sabbath (Saturday) holy rather than Sunday.
I pray the rest of the Christian family will do the same. This way we divorce ourselves from roman Catholicism.

          • Has everyone ignore the SDA beliefs that Jesus Christ and the Archangel Michael are one and the same. I am a believer in the 10 commanments. All of them. Specially the Sabath. Last Sunday I went to SDA Church for the first time because I wanted to honor my God on the Sabbath. It was meant for everyone as were the other 9. No mention of Michael during the service. But at the end I asked someone if there was any truth to this and she said yes. I cannot go to a church that seems to ignore the words “ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD”.HE AND HIS FATHER were the creators of heaven and earth and everything in them. INCLUDING ALL THE ANGELS.

        • I am a non-denomination Christian, and after doing some research on the SDA sect. I am highly disappointed on other Christian groups for distancing themselves from them. • Because Saturday/Sabbath was decided by God, not man. Genesis 20:8-11… remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy… six days shall though work, but the seventh day is the day of the Lord.

The Sabbath was designed by God for all (not just Jewish people). Unfortunately, it was changed by Constantine… it’s in the history books and can be found in the libraries and internet. This conflict is part of Satan’s plan, but God is more powerful and merciful.

    • I just started going to a SDA Church and I think the devil is trying to hinder me. I was told they don’t preach sound doctrine, and they are a cult. I was even asked not to post anything on the web page called “Word of God Speaking…” that has to do with SDA or Jehovah’s witnesses.

    • Dear Wendy, I have a friend who attends SDA. I have a question. I understand the SDA teaches there is no hell, even though Jesus spoke more about hell than heaven as He wants NONE to go there, but wants all to repent and accept His free gift of salvation. From my limited knowledge of SDA, it appears to be salvation by “works” meaning, you get to heaven by doing this or not doing that, versus Jesus free gift of salvation. The Bible teaches once we have repented (turned around – toward God rather than away from Him, turned from sin rather than being enslaved by sin) and trusted and accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, and received Him as Savior – then we are going to heaven. The changes we make because of our Salvation are SOLEY out of our Love for Jesus. However, the Bible is also clear that there is a very severe consequence for rejecting Christ’s work on the cross. It is eternity in hell. I’ve heard some say, “a good God could not send anyone to hell.” He DOESN’T – rejection of Christ does. He wants none to perish, but all to come. And the reason I struggle with this doctrine is because it takes the URGENCY out of leading the lost to Christ. I have seen this myself as I work with Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses that teach there is no hell. There is not the severe urgency to reach the person who is dying, because there are no “consequences”. That is a lie from Satan himself. There are VERY REAL consequences. Anyway, I’m interested in understanding where SDA comes up with this doctrine. As Jesus was so clear about the reality of a very real hell, Sheol, Gehenna, where there will be weeping, eternal fire, gnashing of teeth. Just trying to understand so I can discuss with my friend. Thank you and may God Bless you.

    • Nope. Sorry. Not Christians.

To be a Christian you must absolutely 100% believe that the only way to get to heaven is by John 3:16.

To be a Christian you must believe that the Old Testament has been fulfilled by the Covenant.

And to be a Christian you absolutely must never use another book as a form of teaching along with the Bible unless it is a Bible study. It cannot be used to preach out of. Never, never, never!

  6. All christians profess to follow Jesus Christ and His teachings and to walk according to the Bible. But I wonder why do Christians worship on Sundays when Jesus Christ himself has never kept sunday as the sabbath day. There is absolutely no reference of Him worshipping or advocating his followers /disciples to worship on sunday. He always kept the sabbath on the 7th day which is saturday according to the 10 commandments.

If we have to go to heaven and live there for eternity , I wonder what laws they obey or keep in Heaven, because most Christians claim all laws are fulfilled and nailed to the cross and done away with. If there is no laws to keep, then logically speaking there exists no sin( because sin is the transgression of the law ) and in that case I don’t need a Saviour to save me. So christians must think and study the Bible carefully. Sin definitely exists and so does the 10 moral laws. I need Jesus Christ to save me from my sins, cause only His blood cleanses me from sin and by Grace only I receive eternal life or salvation. And so because Jesus Christ has done such a wonderful thing in my life , I want to show my Love to Him and that is why I keep the 10 Moral Laws which are still operational & includes the 4th commandment which is the Sabbath.

    • at old testament time those people who will not attend worship services, the church instructed to kill them, that’s is the sabbath so why the sda not follow this?

    • Too often people don’t really know and many choose to follow traditions. Jesus was turned in by his own kind (Jewish) who did not accept him. However, not all Jewish hated and or hate Jesus.

It’s a good thing people ask, because that gives us the opportunity to refer them to the Bible and when in history, things got changed.

At the end, God knows our true hearts/minds, and salvation comes from Him. Otherwise, we will all be doomed. Thank God that he sent His onlt begotten son, Jesus, to die for us and give us salvation. Amen.

  7. I am a Lutheran Christian and I go to church on Sunday. My first born was baptised in the Luthern church. He is now 18yrs and now an SDA christian. Life at home has changed because of his new beliefs which are contrary to what I believe. I love my son dearly but becase of his beliefs there is always tension at home. What must I do?

    • You said : “Life at home has changed because of his new beliefs ”

Please find out if it has changed for the better or for the worse.? Has this new belief brought your son closer to God or away from Him? Because you love your son, you will be able to see the Joy and Growth he experiences in this true faith.

To the Question “What must I do”
Pray and ask God to open your eyes to see the new light shown in this new belief and you will find peace at home. Go to church with your son to experience it.

    • Pray, pray, and pray more!

And just keep walking your walk. It’s up to God. Try to keep the tension to a minimum because walking your Christian walk and keeping in prayer is what is going to make that change and he will finally come back to your bible-based Christianity and be with you in heaven inevitably for eternity. This is a life-and-death situation, so please be patient. We are in such a turmoil in the world right now so I certainly feel for you. My children have pulled away from the Lord as well, so I know your feelings. I’m praying for you.

  8. I’m sorry, but this whole article is terribly incorrect and misleading. (We must all be as careful about not giving false witness as we would be for any of the other commandments!)

As a Seventh Day Adventist I hold no opinion of scriptures that differ with main-line protestant denominations concerning salvation. None. I’m simply a Christian who attends the Adventist church and I could as comfortably worship with any denomination that teaches that we are saved by the blood of Christ our savior. I think we Adventists are right about the seventh day sabbath observance and our dietary habits, but these issues certainly don’t give us any primacy for heaven!

    • Think of a man sentenced to death soon to be executed for crimes say x y z
Another man (Saviour ) steps in and says “I ‘ll die in your stead.
You re free to live .”
Do you think this man would repeat the crimes xyz. If he does its a shame.
But if he is grateful and truly loves his saviour then he will never repeat xyz .

      So its with us.
we re condemned to die because of SIN .Jesus stepped in.He died in our stead.
To reciprocate this great love and sacrifice we ought to obey him keep ALL the commandments which includes the Sabbath observance.
Keeping the law will not save me .But tells my Saviour How much I love Him.

Bible is my rule of faith.
      the Bible speaks:
      1) Sin is the “transgression of the law”
2)”the wages of sin is death”
3)”God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever” ( any denomination or religion)”believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”
4)In vain do you worship me by teaching for doctrines the traditions of men”.
We cant serve both God and man

God says, “If ye love me KEEP my commandments”.

The book of Hosea illustrates this very clearly, how we as God’s children have gone away from Him and how much He wants us to return back to Him and follow His commands.

      • wrong wrong wrong got a feeling most things written against seventh day Adventists are people which have left the church ,by their own undoing ,im so glad god is the apple of my eye and centre of my life. I love others as god does me ,love love love is all you need not arguing about scripture amen amen amen

        • Truly …the greatest commandment is Love , love your neighbor as God loves you.
God is Love, God made the sabbath for man not man for the sabbath. God knew if it was up to us, we would work everyday and forsake him, he made us for him ,not he for us, he wants us to have a relationship with him and to do his will .
The Sabbath will not save us, but it’ s God promise to us and we can not change what the bible say to suit us.

I am also reading my bible to get understanding and clarity to which day is the sabbath day ,maybe we can check out …Moses and God’s people when they were in the wilderness, remember they had nothing to eat and God coursed manner to fall from heaven, God told his people on the sixth day to collect enough to for two days…He wanted them to rest on the seventh day. Thank you all for sharing , that’s my feedback.. Jesus loves you and so do I. Love in the house

        • You’re obviously not reading my posts then. Every single one of them I’ve read include scripture backing them up. Most people that states scripture are themselves Christians. I know I am. Proud to say I am a born again Christian. I spend my time in retirement leading missions Within the US and across the country as well as volunteering from my church and a few churches in my area. Jesus Christ is my life!

BTW, I’m not sure what your post was. You could have simply posted two letters.

No. Any more than that didn’t even make sense. Just saying. Blessings! 🙂

      • It is called the propitiation. Jesus was our propitiation. HE took our place. While we were yet sinners, Jesus took the horrific punishment that was due us and took it and our sins upon himself. It all comes back to the cross and the cross and the cross and Him he died upon it.

  9. Richard, Paul teaches “to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Also, Jesus teaches about a man named Lazarus. I don’t believe this was a parable since it included things that Abraham said to Lazarus. This does not appear to be a parable. “God is not the God of the dead, but the living.” Also, consider the transfiguration, and Elijah being taken up to heaven. The scriptures you are giving to back the belief that man remains dead until the reserection are making different points–not explaining what happens when we die. Your ideas on death conflict with scripture which is intended to teach us about what happens when we die. I could be wrong, sure, I only say these things in love. Also, the foods forbid are no worse for the body than many foods not forbidden. The point was for the Hebrews to be set apart from others. I consider you my brother in Christ. Would you deny this because I worship on Sunday? Keeping the Sabbath Holy is more than getting the day right. I know this because God always shows up when I’m in Church on Sunday. Saturday may be the proper day. I don’t know. I admit that, but division between Christians violates the Greatest two commandments. Love God, Love your neighbor. His Holy Spirit dwells in me the same as you. I think it’s unfair to say SDA are the only ones that can back their beliefs with scripture. You say the Catholics pick and choose what scriptures to believe. I agree, but don’t all denominations. I’m baptist, but I wouldn’t speak I’ll of SDA’s. See what I’m getting at? We are human, subject to error.

  10. This person definitely did not know what they were talking about. Adventists have no dress code, they just encourage more formal wear. Long dresses for woman is SO not true…. Teens especially wear what ever they want now to Church including short dresses.

  11. Amen brother! I grew up catholic but now am born again. Let us pray 4 eachother that one day we will all rejoice in truth

  12. A few thoughts:

    1) Seventh-day Adventists affirm all the verities of the Christian Faith: the Holy Trinity, the Deity of Christ, the substitutionary atonement of Christ on the cross, the bodily resurrection of Christ, justification by faith alone, assurance of salvation in Christ, the new birth, and Christ’s literal second advent. So this makes them Christians.

    2) Seventh-day Adventists believe in healthy living as a mark of discipleship and have recommended a vegetarian diet. However, this is not a test of fellowship, and eating meat is certainly permitted.

    3) Seventh-day Adventist women are not required to wear long dresses. Adventist women try to be modest in their dress, but their garb conforms to what is worn in contemporary society.

    4) Seventh-day Adventists are not the only Christians who worship on Saturday. There are Seventh Day Baptists and a few other Christian sabbatarian groups.

    5) Seventh-day Adventists believe in sola scriptura (the Bible alone) and do not regard Ellen White’s writings as scripture or as having the authority of the Bible. Unlike the Bible, she did not claim infallibility for her writings.

    5) Except for the above points, the article is accurate in its description of Seventh-day Adventists.

    • Adventists believe that Satan will ultimately bear the punishment for sin, not Jesus. Ellen White said this herself in “The Great Controversy”. Nothing fogs understanding of the truth like a well-intentioned Adventist, sadly.

  13. What I’m reading in most or many of the comments sounds like doctrinal rules. “Rest on Saturday or Sunday. Don’t eat meat or eat meat? Jesus was a Jew, different rules apply, and so on.”

All of this is irrelevant and negates Jesus’ act of dying on the cross for our sins. Any religion or denomination that enforces rules on its congregation is contrary to God’s Word and this is not Biblical. There are many people and churches that call themselves Christian, yet they enforce man-made rules on people, which does not equate to Biblical obedience.

If you are a Christian that worships any other “book” along side or above the Bible, then you need to get rid of this idol and go back to the Word. Reading supporting books, commentaries, reading and research is always important, as long as it is checked back against the Bible to prove its accuracy and truth.

If you don’t eat food because you are told you have to, to fit into a denomination, then your motive isn’t by your own choice or faith or knowledge, it is obedience to man, not God. All food is clean according to Bible.

For Adam’s sin there was placed by God the law. But Jesus came into the world to replace the law (Romans), and we become obedient to Christ by faith not by works (the law). All Christians, if you are doing “works” because you think it’s “right”, and everyone else is doing the “wrong” thing, then you are no better than any other domineering religion (Jehovahs Witnesses, Mormans, Scientologiests, etc.) imposing your “works” on others.

You need to revisit Romans and remember that nothing you do effects your salvation other than your acceptance of Christ as God and redemption by his blood for the forgiveness of your sins. By blindly following man-made rules, you negate Christ’s work on the cross and God’s master plan for mankind—to restore our personal relationship with Him.

However, this does not mean we should all be drinking, smoking, riotous, gluttonous, immoral, immodest, divisive, etc. When we accept Christ as our savior and are born again, the Holy Spirit works in us to become more Christ-like, healthier, compassionate, righteous, honouring our bodies as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and not wanting to sin, etc.

Any day of worship is honouring God, and if one man does eat and one man doesn’t eat, neither is wrong.

I admit that I don’t like that SDA seem to idolise Ellen White and this is dangerous. But many Christians idolise preachers and other writers and we need to all be careful. Paul makes a big point in his letters that the congregation should not be “worshipping” him for his teaching or any other “teacher”, but we should all be worshipping God but readinv, studying and cross-referencing everything against his Word.

Obviously because we are sinful humans, each of us has a different interpretation to God’s Word, but there is only one Holy Spirit and we should pray to God that the Holy Spirit will open the word to each of individually to explain and clarify it to us, and not trust any other “human’s” interpretation or doctrine.

  14. An insight to understanding all scripture is to acknowledge God as not only 100 percent love, but also 100 percent HOLY. Both are mutually inclusive. And He requires all to be as Holy as He. This (Salvation) is only possible through faith alone in the Saviour Christ Jesus Who imputes His 100 percent righteousness to the account of those Who will put their trust and faith in Him alone, and so meets the 100 percent righteousness that God requires of us all.

    • Wow sooo Mr Ed , you seem to think you can be Holy of yourself and by your works ?
The law says very simply God is Love but He is also just and He must punish sin . The wages of sin is death . Death means separation from Him. So if you have ever had a thought displeasing to God or if you do today – God’s righteous requirement requires that you should be separated from Him forever. He can have no Fellowship w sin. Isn’t it wonderful that he didn’t leave us to die according to His righteous judgement?? He sent His Son ( fully God ) to fulfill His righteousness requirement that my sin be punished. He ( not me ) fulfilled God’s righteous requirement that my sin be punished when He poured out His wrath on the son for your sin and mine . In other words Jesus came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it and when He said” Tetelistai “ as His next to last cry on the cross your sin debt and mine was PAID IN FULL. He not me did it ALL and now He fulfilled the law and He offers eternal life as a free gift – NO strings attached when I accept the gift by agreeing with Him I am a sinner I can’t save myself , I believe Jesus died for my sin and rose from the dead to prove the sacrifice was indeed Sufficient to take care of all my and to prove He truly was and is God. I must be willing to allow Him to help me thru His spirit and to allow Him to empower me to live a life pleasing to Him. If my confession was a true one broken over my sin – all my sin , past , present and future , confessed or not is forgiven . He also seals me in His Spirit to change my heart and desires – today I serve him out of love not to earn or keep eternal life but because I have it. It is a total fabrication to think that He is making sure I prove up from heaven to make sure I live a good enough life etc . He says eternal life is a free gift – I am no longer under bondage but He set me free to serve Him and Love Him . Anyone who tells you you can’t know if you have done enough doesn’t understand the true gospel. Jn 6:47 He who believes in Me has everlasting life . He said NOTHING can take me out of His hand and nothing can take me out of the Father’s hand. I then go though a lifelong process called santifacation where he guides me and even chasens me as I walk in obedience to Him – if of course I have truly trusted HIM ALONE for my salvation of course my heart will be changed and there will be fruit because of the gift of life He has given me . Oh the joy of Jesus knowing I am His – if it depended on me I would never ever get to His paradise. Anyone who thinks somehow they can be good enough or that He didn’t do enough does not understand His absolute Holiness. When I go before Him there will be no condemnation . I will not be wearing my filthy rags of self righteousness but HIS perfect robe of the righteousness of God . How I pray someone will read this and put their pride and desire to DO something aside and simply surrender to Him and the GIFT of life today and forevermore He offers. James Cline

  15. Salvation meets all God’s righteous requirements, known as Justification.
Then follows Sanctification, which entails obedience to God’s IFS, ie, His commandments, as proof of your love for/to Him, also known as Discipleship.
“He that has my commandments, (His “IFS”),and keeps them is the one who truly loves Me”, and, I will love him and manifest Myself to him.
And when we repent, God will relent, and forgive us of all our unrighteousness.

  16. I am glade to be part of this interesting commentary group.

My name is Chan Kaeyo, 32 years old male and Iam from Papua New Guinea and I came to notice that Adventist are largest cult moment in the world today. Because SDA church was formed by a false prophet called William Miller with doctrinal inscription by Hellen G. White as given by devil trough imaginary beliefs and person assumptions, especially being vegetarian after seeing her husband dying from eating unhealthy food, their biblical interpretations and explanations are contradictory and impractical, misleading millions of simple people astray, finally journeying towards hell. They are mixing up everything and trying to cool down their followers with Sabbath worship, being vegetarian and rest, serving the creature more than the Creator. Don’t they know that Sabbath was made for men and NOT men made for Sabbath? Don’t observe days and months but Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. If they preach about keeping the sabbath, then they should keep all the details of keeping sabbath, not walking, no children, no visited in your house to go out playing, looking for another friend on the sabbath, no letting any of your goats or sheeps out in the field, even not drinking water because pigs with the devil drowned in the river (though the pigs are all death), river where all died are still recycling and you are drinking.

While you are talking about law, you are totaling forgetting yourself that you are commiting very sin Jesus died for and you are serving sabbath more that Jesus Himself.

So seeing men can not fulfill all the law and Sabbath in full, Jesus died so that He is the only TARGET where you will hang all your law, sin, Sabbath. He will guide you through in Spirit and you will CLEARLY know the true interpretation of his Word in the Bible in the Spirit.

If you are not in the spirit, than how will you know the Word of God because its Spiritual. Earthly men will interpretate in earthly ways and those in the Spirit will know the Word of God in spirit.

To finish it, I urge every believer not to believe in the Seventh Day Adventist doctrine because its a Large Cult Moment Against true Christian Christ Established on the Cross and roses on the First Day of the week where I have a reason to serve him on the First Day when he Resurrected, have Victory over death and First Christians (Jesus’s disciples) gethered together on the First Day having communion celebrating his victory over death. Amen

  17. Roseofsydney is correct so SDAs must read that

  18. I think we all sometimes get too caught up in Denominations, beliefs and trying to prove others wrong. If we all would follow christ as he asked us to. And we all understand that God sent Jesus to die for our sins and that he is one day coming back. Pray…love others…spread the Gospel and live according to his word we would be ok. Get out of our every day life selfishness and free our time more to do his will. Amen

  19. It is funny to hear all the comments and half truths. Not one of you said the truth yet. The Jews were adding laws to the Sabbath and making it a burden. Jesus healed on the sabbath. The sabbath was changed by man not Jesus. (Constantine). The Deciples continued to obey the sabbath. Paul preached Saturday night..after sunset so it was called Sunday night service because he was leaving the morning. The Devil’s legions asked to be released into swines and jumped over the bank into the river. All of you need a good bible study. Jesus said ” I come not to change the law. In luke.. he went into the church on the Sabbath as it was customary. I can go on and on. Adventist are not compelled to wear long dress the knew should be covered. Women could now go up to the Alter to worship God if they were showing too much skin. God did not change his commandments, Jesus died that we could be saved since all have sinned and fallen short of the glory since our Righteousness is filthy rags.

  20. It appears people are always stubborn to accept the truth no matter how much evidence you put in front of them to convince them in terms of bible scriptures. I am a SDA from PNG, so to Chan Kaeyo, obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about. We SDAs based our beliefs and teaching entirely on the Bible. SDA church is the only church that can explain the prophecies in the Bible. Ask another denomination to explain a prophecy and they will leave you hanging.

  21. I believe all churches are Gods …as long as we are bible reading and put God as number one ! Love him and show everyone else love ( his love) it is all good! Why do people get hing up on which church or type of church one goes to?? I ask only a few things and I know they are one Gods track
    1) do you love God? ( number 1)
    2) do you love everyone do they can see and feel Gods love through you?
    3) do they read the Bible
    4) do they pray talk to God???
well folks …that’s all that counts in my book . If they do this God will show they everything they need ! I don’t care what denomination or name on the church sign!!!! If you do these things .. you are MY brother or sister and I am sure we will be spending etirnity together

  22. Now I ask you do you read bible.OK first of all I want to ask you simple question like why do you worship idol .Bible already strictly says that idol should not be worship. In ten commandments also it’s said (thou shall not bow down to any graven image- exodus chap20)and if you don’t obey ten commandment then don’t tell me you read bible.

  23. You people Catholic Church is the owner of the Bible you are using….who can correct the errors you make in your letter… Protestants started 16AD…by Fr. Martin Luther… the Catholic Church were still using the same Bible they are using today…. Imagine 1500 years ago before Reformation…. and who said Saturday or Sunday is the only day of the Lord..no no… what about Monday to Friday belongs to who????

    • The problems with catholic church is use of statues in the church, praying to saints, praying on Sunday which has altered the second and fourth commandment,D
o u know why Jesus died on Friday, It’s because on Saturday,He will be resting in the tomb and on Sunday,he will resurrect to show the that the work is completed on Friday, and on he rested on Saturday and on Sunday is a first day of the week to start working. The early apostles were worshipping on Saturday until Constantine change it in 4th century and He changed Sunday too,yet all these were days of pagan god Sun So I don’t think people have to abandon Saturday ,we have to think Very well here.

  24. Gods ways are higher than ours. No human can know the mind off God. If we are truly born again, we would not be arguing the scriptures. God is Holy, his word is final. Be care what you say. If you add or take away from the Holy bible you will face God’s wrath.
God is God of justice, not what we think. We all deserve to be in hell, but because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, we have reconsilation with God only if we chose it, we have free will. God doesn’t send anyone to hell, we send ourselves. Judging other is a sin, lieing is a sin. Thinking we know the bible is a sin. Everyone has to get a personal revelation from the Holy spirit.
Jesus did not create denomination he preached love. Remember the precious Jews are the chosen children of God. They had different expectations compared to us the gentile. If your not Jewish your a gentile. Only God people will be saved when they call upon his name.

We are not to give glory to any man
It is God who gives wisdom, revelation.
Some of us will never really know as God will not tell just anyone about his treasures. The seven spirit of God
Wow. Never think your more Holy or better because you don’t eat meat or don’t wear makeup. Jesus Christ came for the broken hearted. To seek and save the lost. That’s me!!!!!!!!!! Remember the heart is wicked and deceitful. No human is nice or loving, it’s the Holy spirit in them.

  25. Religion like politics is a personal choice. I believe in the Trinity. When Jesus preached many time in small and big groups, and God knowing all things, Jesus knew the people in his crowds would branch into different religious groups. The important thing is belief, trust, and faith that God is real and we will always need him regardless of which religious group we follow. God is love and we need to put love into actions like helping people when it’s not convenient for us, devote time to others less fortunate, listen to people when they’re hurting, etc. A person of any religion can put their love into actions. That’s what God cares about…not if your Catholic, SDA, Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, etc. Our religious choice is a personal journey. Embrace it as He wants us to…with love, trust, and faith.

    • Why then so many Churches…because when you differ from the word of God or doctrine. What is believing in Jesus..all religions believe in Jesus. But believing the word of God from Genesis 1st chapter to Last chapter of Revelation and implicit obeying of the word..Abraham obeyed God to sacrifice his only begotten son of his old age..only believing Jesus and loving all human beings Heathens and atheists also do..

  26. Read my previous message. I wanted to honor the Sabbath, but not at the expense of their beliefs that the Only BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD is one and the same with the archangel Michael.
That’s what makes them a cult, similar with Jehova’s witnesses. Get out of her my sister!!!!!

  27. Alas i have been away from the church for many many years. I was raised a seventh day adventist and still follow its ways. I miss so many good people.

  28. Jesus was the perfect last sacrifice needed to cover our sins. That’s why God destroyed the Temple when He died on the cross. Jesus fulfilled the “CEREMONIAL LAWS” of the Old Testament, but the “MORAL LAWS” (Ten Commandments) are everlasting laws of how to love God & each other! People like to say we don’t have a “how-to” manual for this thing called “life”……OH, BUT WE DO…. IT’S CALLED THE BIBLE, PEOPLE!! It’s THE best book ever written! It’s our training manual for this “boot camp” we call life and if we don’t pass the test, we don’t get to spend eternity in Paradise! Science has proven the Bible is true and evolution is impossible but Satan is doing his best to make people unaware of the facts as much as possible. REBUKE THE DEVIL, BIND HIM AND CAST HIM OUT OF YOUR LIFE!! The Father, Son and Holy Spirit (like water, steam & ice – all different but one in the same) (the One and Only True God) is all we need….all things are possible through HIM!!!
    God Bless you all!

  29. Anyone remember this scripture in Acts 10:9-16

    Peter’s Vision.

9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof

10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.

11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.

12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.

13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

    14 “Surely not, Lord!”
Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”

15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

  31. to all our readers….? who gave us the BIBLE?? thank you…regards from Trevor in New Zealand.

  32. Hebrews 1 :4 says about Jesus, being so much better than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto wich of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? .Read Hebrews the rest of the chapter. Tereza

  33. Perhaps ponder the various arguments from a different perspective. Clearly God is not pleased with that which divides fellowship/ believers/a church/ the heart. God is not pleased when believers attack one another. If you argue about what day to worship, you cannot join in it together. If you argue about food, someone will not be able to enjoy it. A lot of scripture is posted here. How did Jesus use scripture? If you are not building up the body, you could be dividing it. Can you witness to the lost with all this confusion, accusations and differences. Are we not called “together” to share Christ? I pray that all who suffer through these posts might have peace restored in their heart and that they might grow in truth AND love. WithoutLOVE, NOT ONE HAS ANYTHING TO SHARE. Clanging gong, crashing cymbal.

One of my dearest friends is adventist. Thanks to God our faith does not call us into strong debate. Rather it is an anchor & reminder that His presence & wisdom is not limited to our understanding. Bless His name.
