Queston: Is ” white rice” always the same as highly polished rice?
In other words, if any or all varieties of brown rice , when polished identical to white rice? I have strong misgivings, if the answer is ‘yes’ to the second question.
There is a variety, called ‘Nellore Patcha arisii’, (Nellore white rice ) which is never brown , even when unpolished. This is a very tasty variety from parts of Andhra Pradesh in India.

Jasmine rice has better texture than just white rice. I read white was bleached. If it isnt bleached than it seems better but whole wheat rice is probably better health wise but doesn’t taste as good. It has a harder texture and would think it would be harder to digest. I heard white sticky rice was hard to digest breaking down too. Jmo but Ive been liking the jasmine above all rices and makes a great fried rice.
