Just because something is sweet, does not automatically mean it raises blood sugar. In fact, Pure stevia naturally is 0 on the glycemic index, meaning it will not raise blood sugar. Actually, pure stevia concentrate is known to regulate blood sugar. It can lower high blood sugar without effecting normal or low blood sugar and nourish the pancreas. It has been used to treat type 2 diabetes. I am familiar with the characteristics of stevia because I work for Wisdom Natural Brands, the makers of SweetLeaf Stevia.

Stevia raises blood sugar? Please give a cite.

FYI: Some people can not use the modern rDNA insulins. (nuvo, huma, etc). They are given the ultra expensive powder form, which is made from steviosides, from a hydroponics version of he the stevia plant.

On review, I think the writer has his facts reversed. There are reports about erythritol and blood sugar.

Also several grammar errors show. Example: “This erythritol has a lot positive benefits.”, where is the ‘of’?

But he is correct, when stating that Truvia is a branded sweetener. There are now ‘in-house’ brand versions; Walmart has it under their ‘Great Value’ brand, and I have heard of others.

This is the kind of hearsay quackery that has an obese population trying to lose weight on low-fat, high-carbohydrate salad and all-you-can eat breadsticks and pasta. Give me a break. Stevia is a miracle sweetener and low-carb will cure most of what ails our sugar and white flour addicts!
