Difference Between Israeli And Palestenian

israel-palestineIsraeli vs Palestinian
The term Israeli refers to a citizen of Israel which was formed under a United Nations decision in 1947 whereas the term Palestinian refers to the descendants of the families living in the historic Palestine. The PLO defines Palestenians in its constitution as anyone who has been living in Palestine normally till 1947 regardless of whether they were evicted or remained there and any child born of a Palestenian father. Whereas Israelis are citizens of a developed country the Palestenians are stateless and lack the citizenship of any country. The religious affiliations of the Israelis include Christians, Jews, Muslims, Arabs, Druze, etc. The majority of the population of Israelis is Jews comprising almost 82% as per the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel with the rest being a minority. The Palestinians are mostly Sunni Muslims with a small Christian minority.

The Israeli population is approx 7 Million as of 2009 as per the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel. The Palestinians are estimated to be approx. 9.6 Million with over half of them being stateless refugees in various countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. The rest are living in Palestine. The Palestenian figures are as declared by the Palestenian Central Bureau of Statistics. All of the Israelis are either migrants or descendants of migrants who have moved to the region over the last 2 centuries whereas the Palestinians are actually descendants of people who have been living in Palestine comprising mostly of the West Bank.

The Culture followed by the Israelis is western owing to the influence of the various migrant groups whereas the Palestenian culture is predominantly Arab. Although the same United Nations resolution created 2 states one Jewish and one Arab, the Palestenians have never really been able to exercise sovereignty over their land. Whereas the Israelis have through their grit and determination and also the support of the western countries that played a crucial part in the formation of Israel made it into a developed state and a formidable military force in the region the palestenians have felt oppressed by the Israeli occupation of their lands and continue to fight politically and sometimes militarily with the same determination.

1. Israelis are Citizens of Israel while Palestenians are people descending from families that have been living in Palestine before 1947.
2. Israelis are mostly Jews while the Palestenians mostly Sunni Muslims.
3. Israelis are predominantly migrants while Palestenians local descendants.
4. Israelis mostly follow the western culture but the Palestenians follow Arabic.
5. Israelis belong to a developed nation while Palestenians still remain stateless.

  1. very educational…thank you

  2. The Israelis were not immigrants to Israel. They were forced to move due to the holocaust and discrimination. Israel and Palestine were neighbouring countries until Israel was forced to move or die.

  3. Okay this is so dumb because Palestine has barely any support to be able to get to a full state. The Israelis came in 1948 and tried to take most of our land and give a tiny bit to us when they had about 10,000 people and we had 462,465 people and they expected us to be okay with that??? If someone came to your home and took over and gave you 30% of you land do you think you would just agree to it? No, you would fight because they are oppressing you. The Jews had support because they had just gotten out of the holocaust so people felt bad for them. I get it but they shouldn’t be able to take another populations land because they were treated poorly. By the way Donavon you are so off, it is cringe worthy

    • First of all, there is no “Palestine”. There never was. Palestine and Palestinians were never recognized by any nation, sovereign goverment or organization. Second, we never “took over”. We were given what is known as the ’67 territories and we were pretty happy with it. However, local Arabs unfortunately saw us as an invading force and attacked. The 7 armies of Arab and locals lost to 30 ill malnourished Jews with two broken kalachnikoves. If you would care to read a few speeches of that time, you’ll see the israelis’ were full of hope, while the arab’s were full of hate as they refused to accept the near-death Jews coming back to their historical homeland. The Arabs refused the “two nations, two countries” notion, and THAT is why we arrived to this situation.

    • Thank-you. It’s all quite confusing to someone who didn’t attain a thoughtful education of Eastern peoples, their customs, cultures, or their lands. Just learned that Mecca was to be a lush land, and perhaps with terraforming the land can indeed be very lush with fruitful vegetation.

  4. I don’t get it. Is it Israel fighting Palestine or Palestine fighting Israel?

  5. I wouldn’t say Israelis are “predominantly migrants”. Although technically, yes, they did migrate, historically it was not of their own choosing. Exiles, anti-semitism, riots, and the Holocaust all drove Jews away from their homes again and again until they returned to their homeland in Israel, after over a thousand of years of exile.

  6. God gave Israel to Israel millinia ago. What anyone feels, thinks, wants, believes, screams, whispers, prays, simply does not matter.

  7. Abraham had two sons : Ishmael his firstborn and Isaac the second floor and God promised both to be great Nations and twelve princes shall come from them and they shall be fruitful and they shall multiply all the year but yet Yahweh God promise The Inheritance to be to Israel which is part of the 12 tribes of Israel to the sons of Noah and descendants Noah’s Three Sons Shem ham and japheth all descended from so when God says I’m the father of Abraham Isaac and Jacob they descended from Noah the three sons of Noah God will scatter and God will gather in the end Every Nation under one God under one language as part of the tree of life Jews and Gentiles would be together as one

  8. As a jewish girl I find this to be well iasa way accurate. we did not take “your” land but simply earned it. We endured far more then can be explain and we deserve every square inch of Israel.

    • I find it alarming to think that anyone OWNS the land. The land doesn’t belong to us, we belong to the land and while we are inhabiting it, we are merely caretakers. The whole scenario reminds me of children fighting in the sandpit… people need to learn how to share… whether you have been in a Holocaust or not, whether your culture and/or religion has been discriminated against or not! We all have an obligation towards the human race to treat and be treated with kindness. At the end of the day, we all have this in common…we are all human beings!

  9. facts are facts. people also have their opinions. leave @palestine alone please and thank you.

  10. This was not useful, because i wanted to learn there differences, not there history

  11. The Palestinians are unfairly treated. Injustice Anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

There should be a peace deal, to be championed by the United Nations, where all parties involved will be justly settled.

  12. R u telling me that God could be so cruel to the state of Palestine n so just to the Israel ?
If I die will I go to hell bcos I’m not an Israeli ?

  13. Wow… very confusing story but anyway I got a hints of Knowledge after reading this narration
