GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse can be compared in terms of gas mileage, how often they require repairs and reliability. We can also compare them in terms of car price, invoice, features, value, and customized and price quotes by the dealer. Both of the cars have almost the same features, safety and security measures etc.

The main difference between the Acadia and Traverse is their styling and price. Acadia is expensive, and holds standard equipment when compared to the Traverse. The Acadia is available for around $31,740, whereas the Traverse’s price starts at $29,224. Both of them have the same destination charges, which are $775. If we compare both of the cars in terms of performance, then the Acadia offers 288 horsepower and has a six-speed transmission, whereas the Traverse offers 281 and 288 horsepower mated to an automatic six-speed transmission.

The fuel economy for both of the cars is the same, and that is 16-17 mpg in urban areas and 23-24 mpg on the highway. They both emanate 9.6 tons of carbon per annum. The technology for the equipment and options for the Traverse and Acadia is almost the same, as the Acadia has standard features, such as LED taillights and keyless remote entry. The Traverse has a panoramic moonroof, Bluetooth and navigation system. Both of them have rearview cameras, a DVD, and a two panel-sunroof. They also have heated seats.

If we compare them on the basis of safety, then both of the cars offer same safety technologies that are both active and passive. They include curtain air bags on the sides for in case of side impact during driving. The cost of ownership is $48,040 for the Traverse for a period of five years, whereas the Acadia carries $52,247 for five years. Apart from the other differences, the Acadia is harder to negotiate when compared to the Traverse.
