Apple iPhone 4G vs HTC Evo

Speed is one of the most important factors nowadays when it comes to mobile phones that offer multimedia capabilities. The iPhone 4 and HTC Evo are two of the best smartphones on the market today. The iPhone 4 runs on the iOS while the Evo is runs on the Android operating system from Google. Since they are running different operating systems, the applications that you can download for each are not compatible with the other. It is worth noting though that the iPhone 4 has a lot more available applications but Google is expected to consistently lessen that gap in the future.

Although a lot of people refer to it as the iPhone 4G, this is actually incorrect as the iPhone is only 3G compliant. The HTC Evo is equipped with WiMax, which is better than 3G technologies but is still not 4G compliant but is being marketed and received as a 4G phone.

Hardware differences between the two include the size of the screen. The iPhone 4 screen measures at 3.5inches while that of HTC Evo measures 4.3inches. Despite the big discrepancy, the iPhone 4 has a higher resolution than the Evo. This allows for more detail within a small area. The camera of the Evo is also better than that of the iPhone 4. It has a resolution of 8 megapixels while that of the iPhone only has 5 megapixels.

With regards to memory, the iPhone 4 has more since it comes in 16GB and 32GB versions. Although the Evo has a very limited internal memory of roughly 350MB usable, it comes with an 8GB microSD card and users can upgrade or add additional memory cards for virtually unlimited memory. The same is also true for the battery as the Evo battery can be replaced by the user quite easily. The user cannot easily open the iPhone and the battery needs to be replaced at a service center.
