Hey… So did I in Science class like just 5 days ago! That’s kind of scary and kind of creepy at the same time… well at least it is for me. But that’s exactly what I was taught, that it was terrestrial and gaseous planets, NOT terrestrial and Jovian planets.

I do believe that Jovian is just the fancy name for gaseous planets, and we probably just learn it that way in school because it’s easier to remember. According to space.com, “These four large planets, also called jovian planets after Jupiter…

I think you may have missed out Mars in your list of terrestrial planets (though it is in the picture accompanying the article)

”Mercury, Venus and Earth are the terrestrial planets”

Agreed! I’m currently studying astronomical physics and the first thing I notice about the listing of the terrestrial planets is that Mars is missing.

SO I would like to know how the earth has not cut into the other planets, because I realize now that other planets surrounding earth are not flat; but that does not change the truth that Earth is indeed flat. In theory; like a saw, earth should cut into Mars and venues, creating two new planets to colonize. I do hope to hear you response I am quite confused by the matter.

Awesome how different the planets are. I used to call them gas giants, but now I call them Jovian planets. Also smash ultimate is now one year old. Space.
