LaCie is a trusted brand specializes in high capacity storage devices including optical drives, RAID arrays, flash drives, and computer monitors. LaCie has a long profound history that began with two standalone companies, électronique d2 in France and La Cie in the United States. In 1995, électronique d2 acquired La Cie to create what is known today as LaCie. In 2012, Seagate announced it would acquire LaCie for $186 million and the deal was finalized in 2014.  – G-Technology was one of the leading storage brands of the California-based Fabrik Inc., which was also believed to be one of the largest suppliers of external storage solutions in North America back then. In 2009, Hitachi Global Storage Solutions (HGST), a subsidiary of Hitachi announced an agreement to acquire Fabrik Inc., and in 2012, Western Digital acquired HGST along with its leading storage brand G-Technology. Since then, WD owns and operates the G-Technology’s line of products.
