Hunter vs. Jumper Horse
It is not that easy to differentiate a Hunter horse from a Jumper Horse. It is hard to distinguish as one has to be familiar with the anatomy/stance of the horse and also the different phases of the game.
One of the main differences between a Hunter horse and a Jumper horse is in the way that the games are judged. The Hunter horses are judged subjectively, and the Jumper horses are judged objectively.
The Hunter horses have to maintain a bit of decency. The judges give points according to style, movement, quality, temperament, suitability, and confrontation. Here the different judges will judge differently as per their opinion and, hence, the judgment is subjective.
In competitions involving Jumper horses, the judgment is not based on the style or movement or temperament. They are based on faults, rails down, run outs, and falls. Judging Jumper horses is objective as it is basically the speed that determines the result. Different judges cannot have different opinions regarding the speed and the faults with regard to Jumper horses.
The competition involving Hunter horses is also about accomplishing a perfect movement, gait, and style of both the horse and the rider. But in the case of Jumper horses, style or gait is not that important. The scoring in Jumper horses is fixed as it is based on speed, accuracy, and distance. The winner for a Jumper horse is that which completes the jumping course in the shortest time. Moreover, the poles should not be knocked down or it adds to the penalty.

You might want to change “confrontation” to “conformation.” Hunters are not judged on how they confront… well… anything. They are however, in some classes, judged on their conformation, which means their body type and proportion. Otherwise this is a good summary.
