Many years ago I was working with a Psychologist on the analysis of Intelligent Teaching/Learning systems. After one long session, he said, ‘John, I’m going to teach you how to think like a psychologist’. I was aghast and told him, ‘I’m a Chemist; I think like a Scientist’. It didn’t make any difference, my Supervisor taught me how to think like a psychologist. It was a couple of years later, after I had returned to Canada from the UK, that the light went on.

My Supervisor had taught me HOW to think in a certain way. I didn’t have to think in that way, but if I needed to I could. That’s Education.

If, on the other hand, he had taught me TO think in a certain way. That’s training.

    There is a big difference.

In your summary, you stated, “There are more teachers as compared to learners”, contradicting what you stated in point # – Population.
