Emo and Indie are both related to fashion and lifestyle. Although both the terms represent modern fashion, Emo and Indie are different in many ways.

Emo is mainly identified by clothing and style of makeup. The word is basically related to emotion. On the other hand, Indie is more related to a genre of music. The word is basically identified with independent.

One of the main differences that can be seen is that Emo people are those who are in their 20’s and Indie people are older than the 20’s.

First of all, talking about Emo, they are identified by their character, hairstyle, dress and piercings. When talking about their personalities, the Emos are a bit hardcore. These people try to appear different from what they actually are. Emo adults suffer from emotional conflicts.

Most Emo adults have their hair dyed black. Well, one can also come across Emos having a mixture of black and white streaks, or bright red streaks in their hair. Emo people usually sweep their hair across a portion of their face, or down over their face.

Emo adults are also identified by their black dressing style. They wear these black outfits to show off their hardcore character. They may also use pink eye shadow. Another feature that is common with Emo people, is that they love multiple piercings, jewelry and beads.

Now, talking about Indies, they do not wear black like the Emos. Indies prefer vibrant colors, like orange, green and yellow.

Indie adults are seen more in T-shirts and jackets. When talking about their hairstyle, Indie boys have messy hair, and Indie girls have wavy hair.

Unlike the Emos, Indies are considered to be a generally happy lot. The Indies adults are known to be clever cynics, and live a thrifty lifestyle.
