Jimmies and sprinkles are candy-coated chocolates that are sprinkled on the top of ice creams. These tiny candies make the ice creams more attractive and also add to their taste. Well, no one can find any difference between the two, as they are only the same but in different names.

Is there any difference between Jimmies and sprinkles? Well, one can say that there are no differences. Still some have attributed certain differences between Jimmies and sprinkles.

The only difference that can be said of Jimmies and Sprinkles is with regard to their name. These two candies get different names in different regions. A person in Boston, Philadelphia and some parts of New England call these candies as Jimmies. But these tiny sugar candies are called sprinkles in New York and other parts of the world. The difference of how they are called in different regions is the only significant variation between he two candies.

‘Jimmies’ was a word that has derived from sprinkles. It has been said that sprinkles were called Jimmies after a gentleman called Jimmy who ran sprinkles machine at the Born Candy Company in Bethlehem.

Well, some people say that Jimmies and sprinkles are different in their shape and colour. They maintain that Jimmies come in chocolate variety and sprinkles comes in multicolour. While sprinkles are considered to be small coloured balls, Jimmies come in brown cylindrical shape.

Another difference some people say is with regard to their nature. Some say that sprinkles are hard and jimmies are soft.

Well, Sprinkles and Jimmies are the same but the only difference is how they are called in different parts of the world.
