Canon GL1 and GL2 are MiniDV camcorders that have established a name among users. It was after the introduction of Canon GL1 and GL2 that the MiniDV camcorders changed in style and features. It was these camcorders that gave professionalism in video graphing. Though Canon GL1 and GL2 are almost the same in many features, they are different in many ways.
When comparing the size, the Canon GL 2 is smaller than the Cannon GL1. It can also be seen that the light sensitivity in canon GL2 is better than canon GL1. When comparing the resolution, the Canon GL2 comes with a resolution of 200,000 to 122,000 pixels of Canon GL1. It can also be noticed that canon GL2 has a sharper screen than the canon GL1.
Moreover, the new Canon GL 2 is lighter in weight than the older canon GL1. Unlike the Canon GL1, the canon GL2 is sleek with bright silver colour instead of white side panels.
Another feature that is added to canon GL2 is the progarmme setting switch. In canon GL1, a wheel was used for programme switching. The selection of programme is easier in Canon GL2 when compared to canon GL1.
Though both the Canon GL 2 and GL1 come with a 100x digital zoom, 20x optical zoom and 2.5-inch color LCD, the canon GL2 has some additional features. Unlike the canon GL1, the canon GL2 comes with an additional 270 degree rotation and 8MB SD card. The recording time in Canon GL2 is more than in Canon GL1.
When comparing the microphone, the canon GL2 is better than the Canon GL1.
