Tylenol 3, since it contains codeine, is NOT an over -the- counter drug. It requires a prescription, just as percocet does.

In Canada Tylenol 1’s with codiene are over the counter but not tylenol 2’s and 3’s. Tylenol 1’s only have 8 mg of codiene per tablet, they are not very strong.

Tylenol 3 with Codeine is presciption only. It must be prescribed by a medical doctor and filled at a pharmacy. At least here in the USA it is, this may differ in other countries.

Yes, Tylenol 2 and Tylenol 3 are a controlled drug Canada wide. I should know, I was heavily addicted for well over ten years. They are a miracle pill when used correctly for short term. I would recommend Tylenol extra strength or Advil. The codeine in the T2 & T3 is extremely addictive and can lead to a big problem. The withdrawal (to go without) is horrible and most cannot stop on their own. So not recommended for more than 5 days. Anyone can become addicted. At first I threw up, does not mean allergic.

Thank you so much for posting this. Many people think if it’s given to you by a doctor, then it’s safe and non-addicting.

Tylonol 3 is not readily available to Canadians. It is a narcotic drugs, and like all narcotics, you cannot purchase without a prescription.

When you google T3 it’s amazing how many sites pop up advising different ways to abuse it. No wonder MD’s are becoming so hesitant to prescribe it.

Tylenol with Codeine is OTC in the UK. Best place that always has them in stock is Boots. The same is true in many other countries.
