The “TEN Commandments” were NOT the first “written” Code-0f-Laws.
That dubious “honor” is given (by historians) as “Hammurabi’s Code”.

I don’t mean to sound like a wanker but “Hammurabi’s” code is not the oldest written code of laws, it’s not even the oldest surviving code of laws “Ur-nammu’s” code predates it by 300 or so years, and we have found references to an even older code of laws set by “Urukagina” who ruled Mesopotamia 250 years before Ur-nammu, so to recap
10 commandments were “found” by moses 1440 BC
      Hammurubis code was 1790 BC
Ur-nammus code was dates back to around 2100 BC
and Urukagina had his own code of laws and he ruled 2380-2360BC

Regardless of whether or not the 10 commandments was the first law ( I don’t know and I don’t care) It’s adds nothing of substance to the article.
