I take debate on this issue; upon denotes getting up, while apon denotes while in every day life. Just a comment from a bloke who (quoted by oxford university) was born and lived for over 25 years in the …. last bastion of true spoken English in the world, Christchurch NZ. Ignorance is no defence for the truth. PS i abhore the american idea of because we run this planet you will take our amendment of your language via our IT bizzo. Work it out and while your at it why does every other country reserve the so called right to destroy the ENGLISH language as after all Great Britian is the last remnant of Atlantis. IE the Hebrew language is OF the Irish druids.

Joseph Slattery, you slam the destruction of the English language in the very same comment where you destroy the language with horrendous violations of the accepted rules of capitalizing and punctuation. Glass houses and throwing stones seem relevant here. The nature of language is to evolve and change, as evidenced by linguistics changes over the millennia matching well with genetic changes in populations. And I won’t even touch the absurdity of the Atlantis comment.
