Difference Between Samsung Focus and HTC Thunderbolt 4G

Samsung Focus vs HTC Thunderbolt 4G

The Samsung Focus and HTC Thunderbolt 4G are smartphones that feature the latest operating systems. The main difference between them is the network that they are on. The Focus is a GSM phone, which works in a greater portion of the world. The Focus uses a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card that links it to a telecom and can be replaced if you so desire On the other hand, the Thunderbolt 4G is a CDMA phone. It only works in parts of the United States, Canada, and a few other countries. CDMA does not use an SIM card, and it is not easy to change the number or change providers with the same phone.

Another major difference between the Focus and the Thunderbolt 4G is the operating system that they use. The Thunderbolt 4G uses the already tried and tested Android platform from Google. It has been around for a long time and has all the prerequisite features. In contrast, the Focus goes with Microsoft’s fledgling OS. Windows Phone 7 is not based on Windows Mobile 6.5 and is a completely new operating system. It does not have as many apps as Android, but its list of apps is expected to grow, especially with the backing of Microsoft and the prevalence of their Exchange System.

An area where the Thunderbolt 4G has a clear advantage over the Focus is with the camera. The primary camera of the Thunderbolt has a resolution of 8 megapixels, significantly greater than the 5 megapixel camera on the Focus. It is also equipped with dual LED flashes that provide more light for low-light shooting compared to the single LED flash of the Focus. The Focus also lacks a secondary camera for video calling. The 1.3 megapixel secondary camera of the Thunderbolt 4G may not be much, but it serves the purpose quite well.

Lastly, the Thunderbolt 4G’s screen is slightly larger than that of the Focus by just a third of an inch. It may not be much, but it does make viewing things like movies and web pages better on the Thunderbolt 4G than on the Focus.

Summary:

1.The Focus is a GSM phone while the Thunderbolt 4G is a CDMA phone.
2.The Thunderbolt 4G is an Android phone while the Focus uses Windows Phone 7.
3.The Thunderbolt 4G has better cameras than the Focus.
4.The Thunderbolt has a slightly bigger screen than the Focus.
