Before starting any martial art you need to consider what is your main goal. Fitness? Self-defense? Stress reduction and focus control?
This is a base for selection of the best style for you.

Aikido is the best when comes to self defence coz from the white belt they practise with partners unlike karate they do punches and kicks on air and there is no competition in aikido its demonstrations so karate waste a lot of time preparing for competitions while aikido is self defense all the way

Sorry, but I have to strongly disagree.

First, Karate has many “styles”, but we can summarize them in 2 groups: Modern Karate-Do, and Traditional Karate. Notice please, that I use intentionally Karate-Do for the modern group, and only Karate, without Do, for the Traditional. The first is the Japanese adaptation of Karate, where the emphasis was put on individual perfection through repetition of the techniques. Japan, in the 1920s, look to create their modern version of Box, with Samurai Zen spirit, and adapting Karate, from Okinawa gave them this. They wanted to create a modern sport, as Judo.

The second, Traditional Karate, is the original Martial Art from Okinawa, where the emphasis was put on Self Defense. Here, the training fundamentals go to understand techniques applications, and effectivity of body mechanics. The use of weapons is very, very common

In both groups, you start very early, in the white belt, to train with partners. If you say that this is not true, sorry, but you don’t know what are you talking about. Training with partners through Ippon Kumite, Jiyu Kumite, or even in Shiai (competition) is fundamental in Karate and Karate-Do

Aikido is not about self-defense. Aikido is about self-growth through harmonizing energy and momentum, from the attacker with yours. It is about peace, about compassion. Aikido was not developed for self-defense, and sadly, aikido practitioners that don’t understand this, are making great damage creating unsustained fantasies and expectations.
