Difference Between 4 and 4t

There are different sizes of clothes that are readily available for purchase in retail outlets or online platforms. 4 and 4t offer an example of the toddler outfit sizes on offer.

What is a 4 size?

A 4 size is used to describe some clothes that are worn by slightly older kids above three years. The age at which a toddler fits clothes in a specific classification varies depending on its height and weight.

What is a 4t size?

A 4t size is used to refer to measurements of the clothes worn by toddlers who are significantly younger. Toddlers who wear the 4t size clothes are described to be in their diapers, and the clothes in this class are made to fit the needs.

What is the Difference between 4 and 4t

  1. Sizes

Given the fact that the 4 dimension is tailor-made for older kids, their sizes are bigger. They are also taller and leaner to accommodate the changing height of toddlers as they grow older.

On the other hand, the 4t sizes are smaller than size 4 because they are meant for toddlers less than twenty-four months old.

Clothes with this size are shorter since toddlers below twenty-four months are short. Moreover, the clothes are fatter which helps them to leave room for diapers.

  1. Waist

4t sized clothes have an adjustable waist that helps to accommodate the increasing waist size and the fact that the toddlers will still be in diapers.

4 sized toddler clothes do not have an adjustable waist because the clothes are meant for toddlers wearing this clothes do not wear diapers.

  1. Length

Additionally, the length of the 4t sized clothes has short sleeves and shorter pants because the toddlers have short stature.

On the other hand, the length of 4 sized clothes have long sleeves and long pants to accommodate the increasing length of the toddler.
