Droid vs Droid Incredible

The Droid series is a line of smartphones that are exclusive to Verizon and each device is not necessarily from the same manufacturer. This is the case with the original Droid and the later Droid Incredible. The Droid is a phone from Motorola while the Droid Incredible is from HTC, another well-known smartphone maker with a good line-up of Windows Mobile phones.

The difference between the two devices that you would probably notice first is the presence of a QWERTY keyboard in the Droid but not in the Droid Incredible. The keyboard slides behind the device though, so you can hide it when you don’t need it, it just makes the Droid a little bit thicker compared to the sleep Droid Incredible.

It seems like the Droid Incredible is aimed towards a younger crowd while the Droid for working people on the go. The Droid Incredible is equipped with a very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that is clocked at 1Ghz; which is extremely good for multimedia and even gaming applications. On the other hand, the Droid is equipped with an ARM A8, with a maximum speed of 600Mhz but is actually underclocked in the Droid to just 550Mhz. The speed of the Droid is still very good, considering that it is aimed towards business minded people with its feature set. Another indicator here is the presence of a much finer camera sensor. The Droid Incredible has an 8 megapixel sensor that would rival most entry level digital cameras; if only in image size but not necessarily in quality. The 5 megapixel sensor of the Droid, though not as good as that of the Droid Incredible, is nothing to snuff at though as it is still better than most of what you can find in mobile phones.

Lastly, the Droid Incredible is generally limited to the US as it is only capable of working with the CDMA network and its equivalent technologies. As for the Droid, there are 2 versions. One that works with CDMA networks and one that works with GSM networks for European and Asian use.
